That doesn’t even count the crazy amount of games that Davis exits with some “injury” not to return. They about to find out.

And I pray to god that the Lakers sign Melo. It would make my day.

He’s going into a decline anyways but the Lakers just had to buy a name when the product doesn’t fit the price tag.

While LeBron isn’t quite the athlete he was three or four years ago, which is understandable because of age, he’s still better than at least 95% of the league. But to say the product doesn’t fit the price tag is absurd. He’s definitely worth the max for the next two years.

meh. He played 75 games in both years leading up to this one and I think we can agree that a lot of what happened this year was tied to his trade demand

WCA, I like you. You’re one of the best posters on this board imo. But you really don’t have a clue what you’re talking about here.

He has left MANY games throughout his career not to return and then be fine the next game. They still count as a “game played” so it doesn’t show up on the stat sheet. It is a running joke in our fandom for awhile.

Yes, he is a great player. But he’s also very soft and unable to play through any type of pain at all. It’s something to just have to live with. That’s just him.

I told one of my friends to stop going to pelicans games (Casual fan, makes like 2 or so games a year) because for like the 4th or 5th game in a row, AD got hurt in a game he attended. I think twice in a row AD got hurt and had to leave for the rest of the game in the first 10 minutes lol.

I don’t know how many times I’ve called this dude Charmin. That shite was so frustrating. You have to hold your breathe every time he hits the floor.

but I guess it just doesn't show up in the box score. At all. He played 36 minutes a game the two years prior. Kawhi has never played that many in his entire career. Steph hasn't played those kind of minutes in years. Those are more minutes than Giannis played this year. That's been pretty much right in line with James harden these last few years

I have no doubt that he has done so before earlier in his career, but the box score just legitimately doesn't show it

I probably should defer to yall cause I guess yall should know more. But as someone who is simply looking at the amount of games hes played and the amount of minutes, I just dont see it

Maybe I will once we actually get started

I've watched almost every game of his career. Trust us.

You will be blown away by his talent and incredibly frustrated by his softness and passive nature. You'll see.

Incredibly talented. Undeniably soft.

About 5 games left season before this one.

About 10 games left early 2 seasons ago.

About 6 games left early 3 seasons ago.

I would have guessed more than that.

It's possible that my bias/frustration with him kind of framed my perception of his durability. WCA's minutes per game stat is something else that surprised me.

Those were just glaringly obvious ones where he only played like <20 minutes. I'm confident there were at least a handful more each season where he left the game with injury despite having played at or near a normal amount of minutes.

I didn't count any of those games where he played 28-30 mins

Yet over his career, AD averaged playing in ~81% of games each season (even after 2 years with 75 games played - over 91% in those seasons).

AD has not really been an iron man player in his career. If the Lakers don't have much depth, there could be some issues if AD misses about 1/5 of the season.

Yes. Lakers need every penny of space they can get. I dont know if there will be much of a market for Wagner or Jones, but I think we will be able to find a team willing to take a chance on bonga for basically free

Something that I haven't seen mentioned is that you can also send out 5 mil in cash as parts of trades. So you can send the trash players to teams and basically pay their salaries. The receiving team still loses the cap space, but some teams aren't using all of their space anyway, and you can incentivize them with actual cash.

I still don't think the Lakers land a third max player, although I hope they do (as long as it's not Kawhi )
