Oh they are going to frick with Rodgers too. The mainstream media vendetta against him is unhinged.

Well he’s certainly no Shedeur so I don’t think he should make it. His privilege should also count against him for a few votes to equalize the field.

Moronic and arbitrary limitation. It’s almost as bad as the baseball writers, but nothing can ever truly be as awful as the baseball writers.

Joe Namath is in, so Eli gets in.

Namath was viewed as one of the top QBs in his time, when you look at his stats compared to today they look awful but he was the first to throw for 4000 yards, he was a star in his time.

Exactly, Namath was the biggest star in football when he played. When the AFL upstart Jets beat the Colts in the Super Bowl, and Namath "guaranteed " it, he pretty much clinched his HOF spot.

He deserves to be there, he was a great player and tough as hell. An NFL legend.

Manning will get in eventually, whether he deserves it or not. It has become the hall of the very good, not great.

Eli should be in the Hall of I was a team that won a couple of Super Bowls not the Hall of Fame

“Eli Manning ranks highly in several all-time NFL passing categories, including 7th in career passing yards (57,023), touchdowns (366), and completions (4,895) at his retirement.”

2 Super Bowl win, 2-time Super Bowl MVP, 8-4 playoff record.

In 14 years, he only missed one game.

Top 10 all time in every major category.

Beat the 18-0 Patriots in the biggest upset of all time.

I think he’s a hall of famer.

Good. He’s not a HOF qb in my opinion. He was never a top 5 player at his position, ever.

The eligibility should be 1 year and there should be no limit or floor to how many players get in. You either are a HOF’er or you’re not.

He's 11th in most categories, and a contemporary of 8 of the top 10 (He overlapped Favre by 6 years, but the majority of Favre's career occurred before Eli).

Biggest of all time? Not by point spread. They were 12 point dogs and won by 3. For comparison, Denver was a 12 point underdog to Green Bay in 32 and won by 7. Plus, they don't win that game if David Tyree doesn't pull off a phenomenal catch.

Eli was never considered a top QB relative to his peers, and I think that should be a factor when considering HOF status.

Eli is one of the most blessed athletes ever. He was good at Ole Miss, never better than average in the NFL, but is Archie's son, Peyton's widdle brother, and was along for the ride on a couple of improbable Super Bowls. He also looks and sounds handicapped but he's supposedly an entertainer now because Peyton brought him along for that too.

He deserves credit for the 2011 win but his defense did most of the lifting in 2007. He got lucky as hell and gets too much undeserved credit.

He led his offense to 17 points which was exactly how many ppg the Pats defense was yielding. So it was an AVERAGE performance. Even that helmet catch everyone remembers was a horrible decision he got lucky on. Tyree was a 3rd string receiver in double coverage and Eli threw it at his head. Eli also had an INT dropped before that play. LUCKY

Meanwhile his defense held the Patriots legendary offense to 14 points which was 17 points below their seasonal average. It was actually the ONLY time all season the Pats failed to score 20+ points. And it was their lowest ypp game of the season. The defense basically shutdown prime Brady and Moss. One of them deserved SB MVP not Eli.

And not to mention Eli led the league in INTs that regular. It’s rare a team makes the playoff if their QB throws 20+ INTs. He wasn’t top 10 in passing yards or TDs. So once again lucky his team made it to the playoffs in the first place despite his shitty play.

Not anymore. He was 6-8 has since been passed by a few players. He’ll keep dropping out of the top 15. Dan Marino is the only top 10 passing leader player that didn’t play post 2000. Volume passing stats especially in this era don’t mean much

He also only made the playoffs 6 times and was 1 and done in 4 of those. He did not make All Pro or sniff an MVP. He never lead the league in a positive category, he did lead the league in interceptions 3 times however.

The score was 17-14, he did not hold the greatest offense of all time to 14 points

I agree with you, however right or wrong we always give credit to the QBs for wins regardless of their actual performance or impact on the game. Its how it's always been.

If they don't deem pillars of the patriots organization important enough to put in the hall why would they put the guy whose only achievements were beating that Patriots organization?
