I don't blame him. The players get paid and want to act like they are pros in college...Might as well go coach actual NBA pros.

Yep.

NIL + the transfer rules have effectively made pro jobs a better quality of life. The HC doesn't constantly have to fundraise and recruit his current roster along with new players, given them very little offseason.

May's stock will never be higher. Worst case scenario is he flops in Dallas and gets fired with a hefty buyout. Even then, he would still be HIGHLY sought after in the college game if he wanted to return.

It's funny because this is how all coaches describe it. 90% of them don't want to deal with this shite when you couple it with the transfer portal.

I have no idea why you would coach college sports these days if given the option. Depending on the school and situation, you might have better job security. Besides that there is zero advantage

This may be an unpopular opinion on here but if an NFL team makes a hard run at Kiffin he is gone

Kiffin thrives in it but don’t get it twisted, he fricking hates it too. He would prefer it go back to the old way.

It was pretty well known in Oxford he put his name out there for the Dolphins and Saints jobs. I don’t think the Saints ever seriously looked at him but it was rumored he had a phone call with Miami

The Mavs will win a title before Luka does. The league is full of one dimensional players like Luka who never win a title until they get old and win one as a role player on a team that plays defense.

Great coach. I get the sense that he just doesn't like where the college game is headed. He played by the current rules and got out.

Mavs have a great core. Trade Kyrie and continue to build

Too bad everyone else in the west is playing for the 3 seed the next decade

I think nowadays, everything is on the table with college coaches

They are tired of recruiting 24 seven including their own roster
