Kendry Morales.

As he jumped into the celebratory home plate pile, his left leg buckled and he landed hard, resulting in a broken lower left leg (fractured ankle) that required surgery and ended his season

I have a personal dumb injury. I was working a day camp as an 18 year old. I was playing football with some kids. I intercepted a pass and ran it in for a touchdown. To celebrate and rub it in against kids half my size, I spiked the ball and then high-stepped. I high-stepped right on to the ball and broke my ankle.

I hurt my back getting out of bed once.

Ok, maybe more than once.

People who hurt themselves while celebrating is always a DOH moment.

Kevin Brown, pitcher for the Yankees, punching the dugout wall and breaking his hand.

Steve Smith breaking his arm in offseason flag football.

Ha-Seong Kim breaking his wrist by slipping on ice (although he hit the walk off game winning single last night )

malcolm mitchell in 2013 for UGA came to mind but someone already mentioned it.

To switch gears a bit, Cade Mays' loser dad had a pinky tore off when Sam Pittman (I think?) squashed it between a folding chair and a wall at some formal dinner event. Then he tried to sue UGA before having his son transfer out to tennessee.

I was a ball boy for a team in 1972 playing a Catholic league team in 2nd round of playoffs....

Leading rusher for Catholic league team broke his ankle or foot after running through banner and jumping up and down on sidelines like teams used to do.

my team won....... an asst coaches from both teams told me for years that dude plays.... my team loses...

I was sorting cattle and slipped on cow shite and tore my meniscus.

I always thought the sport celebration injuries are funny.

Sergio Canizares dropped a bottle of aftershave on his foot while shaving and severed a tendon.

Missed the WC and his chance to be Spains starter, never got another chance.

I think the Mich St player who returned the game winning blocked punt against Michigan had a Bo Jasckson-like career ending injury after his teammates piled on him in the endzone.

It was actually while he was getting tackled as he crossed the goalline, but of course his teammates didn’t know and all dog-piled on him in their celebration while he was laying on the ground in pain, which I’m sure wasn’t a pleasant experience. Was relatively serious / season-ending, but not career ending,

Sammy Sosa was plenty embarrassed last week when he was forced to admit that the back injury that put him on the disabled list came from violent sneezing.

Is Sammy watching one of his long balls, or getting ready to sneeze?

"It would have been better if I had run into the wall or had a fight with somebody," Sosa told reporters.

It was Oct. 13, 1985, when a tarp machine ran over Cardinals star basestealer Vince Coleman.

It was before the game, and Coleman was doing some pre-game drills. There was also a light rain, and the grounds crew decided to bring out the tarp. However speedy he was, Coleman lacked eyes in the back of his head and failed to notice the tarp roller coming at him. Uh-oh.

The tarp rolled over Coleman’s left leg, badly bruising it and chipping a bone in his knee. Coleman was done.

Los Angeles Angels first baseman Kendry Morales broke his lower left leg while celebrating his winning grand slam in a 5-1 victory over the Seattle Mariners Saturday.

Morales will undergo surgery Sunday with ankle specialist Phil Kwong. The Angels did not release a timetable for his return, but the severity of the injury suggests it could be season-ending.
He was placed on the 15-day disabled list.
