re: Donovan McNabb: I don't know why Aikman is in the HOF but I'm not, I was the better QB

Doesn't change that McNabb got jealous and got him booted, ending all hopes of getting back to a super bowl

And that McNabb quit in the SB because he had a tummy ache.

McNabb is vastly superior to Aikman in every aspect of football. But Aikman is easily the worst player in the HOF regardless of position. McNabb would be in the bottom 10-15% if he were to get in though

Doesn’t joe Namath have more int’s than td’s?
Posted on 5/24/19 at 4:58 pm to Bench McElroy
I’ve said it on here before, look it up, Andy Dalton has better career numbers than Aikman.

somebody, anybody tell mcnabb to stfu...

And Matt Stafford will pass Joe Montana this year.
It’s a different era.

He's not even the worst quarterback.

Troy Aikman

I immediately thought of Joe Namath too.
Eli Manning will eventually get it so he will be on the “worst QBs in the HOF” list.

Namath is definitely one of the worst HOFers but at least he was a 2x All AFL and led the NFL in passing twice including the first 4K yard season.

McNabb finished with 37,276 passing yards, 234 passing touchdowns and 117 career interceptions, while Aikman had 32,942 yards, 165 TDs and 141 INTs. McNabb had an 85.6 QB rating, versus 81.6 for Aikman.
To be fair to Aikman, the eras also favored McNabb.

he did NOTHING at the beginning of his career and nothing at the end. He was great for about 5 years.
He was on some awful teams the first couple of years, and bad teams at the end of his career. I’m not a proponent of elevating QBs because of team success, but it’s hard to discount Aikman’s run over that 5-6 year span. He was clutch in so many games. His 16 game playoff QB rating is higher than any regular season he had.
Also, Aikman and McNabb didn’t play in the same era. The game changed a lot in the time between Aikman’s rookie season, and when McNabb entered the league.
There were only 2 QBs with a rating over 90 in 1994. In 2004 when the Eagles played in the SB, 11 QBs had a rating over 90.
McNabb’s career coincides with Romo’s. Compare his stats to Romo’s, and it’s obvious Romo is the better QB.

Passing changed during each players career

For starters, McNabb played in a better passing era than Aikman: In Aikman’s rookie year, 1989, the league average passer rating was 75.6. By McNabb’s rookie year, 1999, the average passer rating had climbed only slightly, to 77.1, but by McNabb’s final year, 2011, the league average passer rating had risen all the way to 84.3. In other words, the significant increase in passing efficiency in the NFL had barely begun over the course of Aikman’s career, but it exploded during McNabb’s career. Although their careers overlapped by two years, for all intents and purposes, Aikman and McNa

Uhh...except winning championships. This is your second dumbest statement in this post, because of this...

not every. Aikman is vastly superior in terms of accuracy

If we look at Aikman's contemporaries he still doesn't soar anywhere near the top
Young: 232-107
Kelly: 237-175
Moon: 291-233
Ailman: 165:141
His rate is worse than the other 3 and he has 70 less TDs than any on the list

If you base it on fantasy football stats then McNabb should be in the HOF over Aikman, but it's about winning championships and we know that to win three you have to be a great QB. Aikman is deserving. McNabb in my opinion isn't.
