Exactly.

It's hilarious idiots defend McNabb and attack TO when TO was the one who broke his leg and tore ligaments in his right ankle in the NFC title game.

Yet still showd up to play his heart out in the Superbowl.

Mean while McNabb was nervous, throwing up and playing quite shite.

I agree.. T.O was a beast that game but who was throwing him theball?????

Bottom lime is that Aikman had a TON more talent around him than Mcnabb had....FACT..........

That same OL damn near got Aikman killed in 1989. He separated his shoulder and didn’t even finish the season.

Trivia time:
Name the “greatest OL ever” starting 5 for Aikmans career. And as a bonus how many are in the hall of fame?

He isn’t getting in the HOF. Look at the stats of this generation, McNabb isn’t close to competing. Aikman was judged against a different era of quarterbacks, if he played today I doubt he would get in with the same statistics.

Dude, doesn’t Joe Montana have 5 rings? Joe Montana was a lot like Johnny Unitas.... super accurate.

Aikman has actually gotten to the point of being badly undervalued. He played in a different era with less pass friendly rules, the offense didn't give him as many TD opportunities because ES was so reliable and his career was damaged and shortened by concussions. Of course McNabb put up better numbers (although not much better).

He also should be rewarded for playing well in the playoffs- something that if McNabb had done he would have earned a SB ring.

Hell, the best quarterback in Aikman's time was Steve Young and SY's stats on paper compare poorly to loads of good but not HOF QBs today or from ten years ago. You have to compare players to players from the same era with the same rules.

If Tony Romo and Matt Hasselbeck get in before him then McNabb can complain, not Troy Aikman

Someone tell Donovan that David Garrard, Chad Pennington and Jeff Garcia were all better than him if we are going by his process.

Aikman’s picture is in the dictionary next to game manager. One of the most overrated football players ever

Novacek was the TE

Do I get a cookie?

But I worked for that organization 2 years later so

Gogan and Stepnoski left
Eric was nicest guy of that group

Honestly, it seems like 1995 was the most productive (overall) Cowboys offense of the 90s. That offense had a line of Tuinei, Newton, Donaldson, Larry Allen, and Erik Williams.

And I'd say Larry Allen was the most talented offensive lineman that protected Aikman (and the only one who is in the Hall of Fame).

No Eric was the best OL to ever wear a Cowboy uniform. Allen is 2 Smith is 3

Eric Williams was just mean had the feet of a RB and just did things you aren’t supposed to at that size. If the rape case and injuries don’t happen he’d be talked as greatest LT ever.

Fleshed out your statement. But it happened and we need to discuss how things turned out; not what could have been. Otherwise, David LaFleur might be the best TE the Cowboys ever had (and not someone whose career was ruined by injuries).

IIRC, Williams never started at LT for the Cowboys. Am I forgetting a time when he did?

As a rookie when Newton was the RT. Then Newton had to be moved because of injury to himself they moved Williams to RT. Then when he mauled White in a game they left him there. They were going move Tuinei to G when they weren’t going to resign Gogan. Williams was a ST at Central St so he could play both. It’s ironic that neither Eric or Allen were big time NCAA players. The Cowboys got neither in first round either

And to compare LaFluer to Eric is I not very good as LaFluer wasn’t really that invested

But in good news about Eric he was never arrested for idiocy like Lance Rentzel was but at least that got Alworth to the Cowboys I guess

3 rings as a starter puts a QB in pretty elite company. Not hard to figure out. I think the only others to be able to say the same are Bradshaw, Montana and Brady

Aikman’s HOF argument is similar to Bradshaw’s. Because rings.

Namath is the one that McNabb should be beefing on. Only one ring and a shite ton of career interceptions.
