Donovan McNabb: I don't know why Aikman is in the HOF but I'm not, I was the better QB

Donovan McNabb says he's "absolutely" a Hall of Fame player ... telling TMZ Sports his career yards AND touchdowns should make him a shoo-in for Canton.

"My numbers are better than Troy Aikman," the ex-Eagles superstar says.

McNabb joined the guys on the "TMZ Sports" TV show -- airing weeknights on FS1 -- and said he unequivocally expects to be wearing a gold jacket at some point in his future.

"I'm not hesitating on that. I am a Hall of Famer," McNabb says ... "My numbers speak for themselves."

I've said on here before that Aikman is the most overrated QB in the history of the sport. But...he has 3 trophies so that puts him in the HOF without any doubt

McNabb finished with 37,276 passing yards, 234 passing touchdowns and 117 career interceptions, while Aikman had 32,942 yards, 165 TDs and 141 INTs. McNabb had an 85.6 QB rating, versus 81.6 for Aikman.

I think it’s much more complicated of an argument than “my stats are better than a guy who is already in”, but what do I know?

You do realize there are 52 other guys on the roster right?

Maybe because he had Emmitt Smith rushing for 350 times a season in a time where offenses weren't airing it out like they have progressively become

The "My numbers are better" argument is always a weak one

Pretty much.

3 rings is pretty rare for a starting QB. The only players with that many or more besides Aikman are Brady, Montana, and Bradshaw.

Hell, Eli has 2 rings and I think the only reason he will even be in the discussion for the Hall is being on the Giants.

honestly i think mcnabb was underutilized for most of his career. dude was throwing to jokers like freddie mitchell for most of his time in philly..it was brian westbrook and a bunch of scrubs

when he finally got a legit gamechanger at the position he basically doubled in production year to year. If TO had been able to keep his shite together they were going to put up big numbers consistently.

Aikman is in solely based on the fact that he led the cowboys to three rings.. take that away and he’s Mcnabb.. I honestly don’t feel either should in the hall but I can atleast differentiate why one is and one isn’t

Aikman is overrated...........but he played for the Boys and has 3 rings....bla bla bla.

Look at his stats.........he did NOTHING at the beginning of his career and nothing at the end. He was great for about 5 years.

BUT I love him as an announcer.

It’s completely fricking lazy of you to not include the stats of the two players in the OP

Aikman was like 70% passing in 3 super bowl wins.

McNabb wouldn't even run no huddle to try to win the super bowl because he was too fat and out of shape. He then got the star wr kicked out of town because he was jealous of him.

Maybe not knowing that a game can end in a tie automatically disqualified him?
