Whoever doesnt think Pete Rose should be in the HOF is ignorant. Its incredible the pretentiousness and self rightousness that baseball fans have about this shite. Baseball is a romantic game and its the most graceful and beautiful game to watch. It has so much rich history. It also has a history of cheating, corruption and racism. The HOF is a god damn museum. The entire purpose of it is to document the game. How can you just say that Pete Rose never happened? He is the fricking all time hit leader! Its asinine to even have a discussion about this and consider that he shouldnt be in. Him cheating makes him even more infamous. But no, lets not put one of the most famous players of all time, a player that has more hits than any ofher player in the history of the game, and oh by the way, that same guy cheated when he was in a place of power and was banned from the game. Yea, lets keep THAT guy out of the Hall of FAME! He's not relevant at all.

Yes. Of course. This is all stupid.

Put him in the Hall of Fame as a player for what he did.

Make his gambling a part of the story and put up a display about the scandal and why he was banned.

He didn't cheat. It was before steroids. He is the MLB all-time hits leader. This is all stupid and makes MLB look stupid.

Agree. His playing career is HOF worthy. His crimes against baseball came later.

I'm just wondering. How many of you advocating for Pete to be in the HOF think he didn't know the penalty for gambling? If he knew, and he then went out and did the one thing it says in every dugout you can't do... what's his argument for being a special case? Especially when he knew what happened to Shoeless Joe?

He's in the HOF, he's just not a member and doesn't have a plaque. But his name is everywhere it should be. No one denies his hit record, and he hasn't been scrubbed from MLB history.

Petey boy agreed to the punishment handed down. no he does not belong. What about the steroid era players who are getting no HOF love?

Pete Rose should be in the HOF simply for being the so famous for not being in the HOF.

I think he should be as a player. I agree they should have a dark side of baseball wing in the HOF and they could put all of the bad stuff.

IMO, he's been punished, what, 25-30 years? I think that's plenty.

Time to let him in.

Its time for Pete to fake his death and see if they let him in. He needs to fake it about two weeks to a month before whoever decides is eligible does their job. After induction, he needs to reappear.

Gambling had nothing to do with making Pete Rose arguably the best hitter of all time.

Steroids had a lot to do with making those other guys perform at HOF levels.

Sure, why not. While we are at it, lets give everyone who cheated and should be in the HoF their own exhibit with an asterisk beside their names
