I don’t think he’s fired Monday, but if this thing gets to 4-8,3-9 ugly I could see him getting the axe. He better right the fricking ship if he wants to keep his job

Isn’t his buyout $70M or something? He’s not going anywhere.

Lol, not a chance. he went undefeated in the regular season last year before the QB got hurt. He would get one muligan season and another before being fired.

They signed him to an 8 year 84 million extension earlier this year. He isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. They will make him give up play calling and bring in an OC. Probably fire their DC as well. Aranda going to get the ax at Baylor. I could see Dave taking the FSU Dc job.

I doubt they ax him mid-season. He can probably hide behind the magnitude of DJU’s ineptitude until the end of the year.

They extended him right before this happened, no way he gets canned unless its a drastic record like 2-10 or 3-9.

At 0-3, their season is over, other than to play spoilers. They’ll keep him around just to decrease his buyout.

agreed. i mean, that's the way it SHOULD be. but i think this year is the freebie year. i mean, he was a 4th and goal (from the 31) miracle away from being in the CFP

this year, he "should" be allowed to stay no matter the record. but if he goes 2-10, then next year, he might be on the hot seat next year, even though he should get 2 years to rectify the ship, considering how close he was just 9 months ago

They lost one game last season. He'll get at least another year

Not a chance this year. Can’t go 13-0 and then get fired.

His buyout is 85% of his remaining contract. If fired after this year, that would be $65 million. He’s not going anywhere.

oh damn

so either way, norvell wins. hell, he probably doesn't feel that pressure to win, considering he'll come out smelling like roses either way

They can go 0-12 and he'll still be coach next year.

I would say he got a yuge raise during the bama "courtship" that I am not sure really happened. Couldnt happen to a more arrogant fan base. Dont they have to pay the ACC to get away from them? They are too poo to do both

That's the thing about these massive guaranteed contracts. Take Kelly as an example. TAF has no financial problem paying him $10M a year. They would have a financial problem paying him $10M a year + paying whoever they hire after firing him $10M a year.

FSU is in a similar position with Norvel. His salary isn't the issue. It's thinking about his salary plus the next guy's salary that's the issue that will keep him there for years to come.

Same with LSU and Kelly. Rantards who want him fired are going to be looking at 2028 or 2029 at the earliest.

DJU should be fired.

I mean, if a coach can, a player should too if theyre underperforming
