The NFL plays games internationally.

Super Bowl World Champions sounds good to me.

well this is absolutely idiotic, at best.

no it isn't.

the MLB All Star Team would beat the Cuban All Star team in a best of 7 series.

It's not like Cuban's are Dominating the MLB.
there were 26 on MLB rosters last year.
of the 26, 1 made the MLB All Star game last year.
Also in the WBC, Cuba has NEVER won it. (I'd go far enough to say that All Star team is trying a lot harder than the half assed USA team we send)

Is this a serious argument?

Yes, we play games in Mexico, but we're not playing a team from Mexico. This is like bringing McDonalds to 5* restaurant and call it fine dining.

A big country with a proud history of athletics could compete given enough time. The nation that always comes to mind when I think of this is Brazil. They care more about winning the world cup then their own fricking government.

always thought this as baseball has the "world" series but its only north america teams in it

baseball is one of the few sports where you can truly have a world series playoff from teams around the world

Yeah. People are way confusing the question at hand.

They seem to think the topic is if Team Cuba could beat the Washington National is baseball.

This isn't a Team USA vs Team Cuba thing, a Washington Nationals vs Team Cuba thing, and it certainly isn't about where players are freakin' from. It's individual sports franchise vs individual sports franchise from different countries (think UEFA).

No franchise outside of the United States is competing with the Chiefs in football. Therefore they are the world champs. Whoever won Cuba's equivalent of their World Series wouldn't beat the Nats in 7 games.

Honestly, I'd be okay with the UEFA champion calling themselves the world champ because I don't think any soccer franchise on any other continent would even be competitive with their winners.

That's not what this is about. It's not about Team Brazil. It's about if Brazil had an American football league and thinking the team from Sao Paolo could compete with the Chiefs. They couldn't because all the best American football players - whether born in the US or abroad - come play in the NFL.

Their best soccer players go to Europe and the Europeans have the best individual leagues and teams in the world. Has nothing to do with Team Brazil.

Cuba
Japan

Both of those countries could certainly put together a team that COULD beat an MLB team.

Japan is on the lower end of plausibility. But it is still professional baseball with players in their primes playing it.

But it's AAAA baseball at best. The best players still come over here year after year.

Cuba is fricking laughable. Their entire league is either 17 years old or 35 years old. Everyone worth a shite in between has defected.

The last year that Yuli Gurriel played there he hit .500. That doesn't happen in a reasonable league.

NO

St.Louis BLues would of skull fricked any Euro all star team in a 7 game series.

Washington Nationals would of skull fricked a World team.

Kansas City would skull frick any World team of football players.

But, you do not hear MLS claim to be World Champs, because they know that would be a joke, and would get crushed if they face a bottom half table teams from any of the big leagues.

But the Other leagues can claim it, they would crush them.

The champion of every continent competes in a club world cup.
It's been going on for 20 years now, Europe has won majority with South America (and those being brazilian teams) winning 4.

why are they playing All Star teams?
wtf kinda logic is that?
St Louis Blues vs the champion the KHL seems about right.

Because soccer does a continental championship, and then the winner of each confederation plays in the Club world cup.

MLS winner goes on to the CONCACAF Champions league.
only 2 times in it's 58 year existence has an american team won it.

What's the tournament called? The only thing I can find online is from an old tournament that ended in 2004.

Also, I'm legitimately curious about this question. How much do the UEFA teams even care about winning that thing? In terms of the hierarchy of the titles they want to win I assume their national league titles and the UEFA titles are the two most important right?

Does the UEFA teams go all out to win the games against South America or is it a bunch of backups?

Brazil couldn't fund one afternoon clinic on American Football to their youth.

Half their kids are running around homeless in the streets.

The only reason they are great at Soccer is because its the cheapest fricking sport on the planet to play - which is WHY - it's the #1 sport in the world - that's the ONLY reason. Because any dirt poor South American, African, Asian country can play it.

Kids play it in the streets, using wound up rags as balls.

Brazil can't even fund and get good at baseball while their South American neighbors can.

Brazil funding and getting good at American Football is absurd.

While Venezuela descends into fiery chaos, MLB teams will start looking to other countries to fill the international pipeline.

Brazil is one of those countries getting looked at more and more. It won't take Brazil investing for them to start producing baseball talent. That investment will come in the form of academies built by MLB (and Japanese) clubs.

It’s called the club World Cup.
Liverpool just won it in December

I really don’t think they do, and they still dominate it

It’s not high. But they still win
Liverpool is the best club in the world right now.

Not all backups but they’re not fielding a team that’s playing for the champions league title
I mean the European teams budgets dwarf everyone else and it’s not even close
