Both of those countries could certainly put together a team that COULD beat an MLB team.

Jesus. It is not the World Champion because it is played in the USA. It is the world champion because it is the highest level of the sport in the World. The best players in Japan and Cuba (especially Cuba) play in the MLB.

How hard is this to understand?

But again, that's putting together a team of All Stars.

The best team in Cuba or Japan, I'm pretty confident to say they can't beat the best teams we have in the MLB. B ut baseball is weird in the postseason...

Wut?

I dont have a problem with anything regarding this thread and calling the team world champions.

I just responded to the thought that no professional team could lose to another team in another country, which is probably true in every sport except baseball.

Weird melt.

I take you for a "anything not America can frick off" type of person, so you don't really offer anything to the discussion.

There absolutely COULD be a world champion outside North America from basketball, hockey, or baseball.

Any team made up of players outside of the NBA, NHL, or MLB would get their shite pushed in.

You can't just remove players from those said leagues because they are not domestic.

I agree. In Cuba it would absolutely 100% take their All Star squad.

MAYBE a Japanese team, but likely would need an All Star team. Could win though if a team had a pitcher of the caliber of someone like Ohtani.

with is do you use our league teams vs their league teams (EuroLeague)

Our league teams would win 100-0 in everything.

or go with "your best vs our best" to determine?

That wouldn't be the specific league then. That would be country vs country ala the world baseball classic.

The could not beat the Washington Nationals in a best of 7 Series.

Japan

Most Recent Japanese Champion

Also won't beat the Nats in a best of 7

But again, if these all star teams are made by taking players off of MLB rosters, it makes this thread silly and further strengthens the notion that the winner of the world series would be world champs. The best players in the world are playing in the MLB; therefore, the winner is world champion.

Yeah I don't care about calling them World Champions. That doesnt bother me at all. It is the highest level of the sport in the world without question, so it makes sense.

But like I said, I think it would probably take an All Star baseball squad. The only possibility if its just a team vs a team would be Japan. And then it would only be possible with a pitcher that will be in the states in the next year or two.

Even the best Cuban all star team even taking the MLB players would lose to the MLB All Star team as well.
If we are using that too.

Only foreigners and soccer needs have a problem with that.

Like a combined team from Europe and Asia could beat the NFL Champs.
