I mean, why would the NFL want a dynasty in Kansas City of all places?

The player is worth more than the franchise to the NFL. Look at Brady. Pats weren't much without him. How many Brady jerseys were sold around the world?

After watching yesterdays Kansas City game, maybe I was wrong.
You know it's bad when you are appalled at the officiating in a game where you couldn't care less who wins.

Do they stand to gain anything by pushing the Rams through at this time?

Have you watched an LA Rams game? They always play away games at home...they were building a $5 Billion stadium at the time for a city full of people who don't give a shite

No. We go down this rabbit hole every time something happens that a fan doesn’t like.

I used to think no way, but then the saints/rams no call happened the first year the rams moved to LA and now I have my doubts

Look at the amount of money that is involved in sports. I’m sure someone will try to do whatever they can to get the odds in their favor.

I think the ref purposely did not call PI so that the Rams could make the Super Bowl over the Saints in 2018...

I don’t think games are straight up rigged. I think that would involve too much to keep quiet for this long.

Do I think there’s preferred outcomes and refs may be encouraged to officiate games certain ways to get these preferred outcomes? Potentially.

yea before that play I would’ve called anyone even hinting at rigging crazy. That swayed me a lot.

I’ll never get over that absurd call.

You could be right. It’s definitely like that in the NBA. It would be a relatively modern trend in the NFL. A big difference is the NBA likes to anoint its stars before they’re in the league. The NFL you have to kind of wait and see, especially when you are talking about a late pick like Brady.

what games / team feel good stories make you suspect?

LSU-Alabama

LSU wins after Katrina
Patriots after 9/11

You can't tell me a major corporation (NFL) isn't going to do all it can to maximize profits.

I dunno, I used to believe this, especially when I was a fan of the STL version of the Rams and league as a whole, but the officials nor the higher ups forced the Bucs to only score six points against the Rams in the NFC Championship nor the latter to turnover the ball three times to the Patriots three years later. The games are still determined on the field. This isn’t a sport that has a best of five or seven series. One flat game and you’re cooked.

Eh, again, I used to believe this, but they were one of the few teams at the time that knew how to defend that particular Rams team. They both played each other the regular season in Foxboro, and the Patriots came very close to winning it.

Rig - no

Heavily influence - absolutely

Watch who gets called for holding on a critical drive to kill a drive or who draws a PI penalty to extend a drive
