I don’t think I’ve ever seen it.
What’s the freaking point?

Maybe after 3 margaritas. But you have to be careful. After 5 the Mercedes-Benz stadium will want to open yours.

Yes, but in two seasons it will claim it was forced to.

I dont understand spending extra tens of millions on a retractable roof that is never used

Apparently, it was opened back on 10/11 for the Ravens/Falcons game.
Looks cool - they should do it more often.

It was open for the 49er game last week too, but the point is valid

They open it when the weather is nice and they expect a lot of visiting fans.

Yes they do. I see several games a year with it open.

I was thinking it's a waste in most cases for football. Indianapolis is one of the only stadiums I can think of that tries to use it.

No, because then it would really look like a chocolate balloon knot

Don't they usually have the local government pay for it? Then who cares? Just float some bonds.

Is that why they built the Superdome?

Similar with Houston. And most of them it's like a hole in the roof resulting in pretty much all shadows

Agreed, but the only sunlight that comes in is always on the opponents bench, which makes even less sense to not open it. Every advantage counts, right? I'm not sure how they determine whether to open it or not, but it seems like it has to be perfect weather around 70 with zero clouds in the entire state. Not much higher or lower or someone might feel uncomfortable....ridiculous. I was shocked it was open for the Ravens game although there was no reason for it not to like many other games. I guess I'm just surprised any time it's open since there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it.
