Soccer is for people who can't play real sports. I hate it. It's totally gay. And I could care less if I sound stupid for saying it. I think most will agree with me. This thread is stupid.

I did the exact same thing, then I was even more pissed when they didn't even try to make the game end with someone winning. It wasn't until someone later explained to me that they play a round robin before moving on to the tourney play.

I think you are taking this issue entirely too serious.
When someone says they "hate" a sport, it is understood by most reasonable people that they don't "hate" it. They simply don't like it. In any event, it is okay to not like a sport. Everyone is inclined to like one sport over another. It is also reasonable to take away something about that person's personality based on that choice. Though saying soccer is for f---, is too strong. The people you are complaining about probably don't expect it to be taken anywhere near literally.
