Did Coach K bury Harrison Barnes on the USA bench because he was a Tarheel?

Cowlishaw: You can't look at it that way. Barnes is in no real sense a $94 million player. That's just his salary. If you get hung up on that the way people did with Chandler Parsons and his money, then Barnes will be a disappointment. He's a Maverick, and he got that money because that's who was available after Plan A and B fell apart (as usual). If he scores 14 points per game and plays better defense than Parsons, then you have to be satisfied with that. Also you can't put it past Coach K to bury a UNC player on his bench and enjoy it.

Yea that makes a lot of sense. Coach K voluntarily chooses a Tar Heel to be on the team, but secretly he hates him so he doesnt play him. Also, the fact that Barnes was far and away the worst player on the team had nothing to do with it. Go play in traffic.

Barnes never should have been on the team to begin with. It should have been JJ Redick or Kyle Korver IMHO

He had to try and hide his Duke bias so he chose Barnes so he would be able to say exactly what you just said.
