I still don't know what point he's trying to argue. He's argued himself in circles in this thread.

The jury is still out on Deion. If he even coaches the next 3 years, that will tell the story.

But he didn't prove to be good at any of that last year. Again, he only beat 2 teams with a winning record in Baylor and Texas Tech.

Dude, they were 9-3. They beat teams that are on a similar level as them as OSU/Arizona/Baylor/Texas Tech. Most people on this board predicted them to finish at the bottom of the standings.

They missed out on a bowl game for 2 straight seasons before Deion's arrival.

You’re counting that Covid appearance in the Alamo Bowl? They had a 4-2 record that year. Remember…Pac12 didn’t want to play ball. Sorry, that’s no indicative of how bad CU has been. Their last REAL bowl appearance pre-Deion was 2016. Before then was 2007. So…since 2007, they had a 10-4 season (2016). Their next best was a slew of 5-7 years.

Again, I don't think you really understand how dire things were in Boulder by the end of Dorrell.

We have a couple of WAY off base posters in here. My buddy went to CU. The program was a joke. The stadium was empty. Students didn’t care about the sport. The team wasn’t just bad, they weren’t even competitive. You hear Arky fans complaining about Chad Morris, but this was worse.

Deion grew interest, fans showed up, and they won the most games since 2017. People talked about CU football.

Did he use his name to lure recruits and coaches? Sure. Who the frick wouldn’t. Players went to Bama because of Saban, not really a secret. Did he cater to his kid? Yeah. Did he coach in a weak conference? Yeah. Guess what, the Buffs were 1-11 in a shite conference in 2022. You play the hand you’re dealt.

some but Bama is Bama.

And recruiting has been solid without him.

How convenient. His kids and Hunter leave and he resigns immediately after.

Anyone who was paying attention could have called this. Him taking the Colorado job was always just a grift to get his kids into the league

Ever since deion got to colorado people have been vastly exaggerating how bad colorado football is. This is a program that won a national championship in 1990, played in multiple big 12 championship games in the 2000s including winning one and they played in a pac 12 championship while in that conference. Sure they arent georgia or alabama but those accolades put them in at least the top half of college football teams during that time period. Going 9-3 for a program that won a national title as recently as the 90s just isn't all that impressive.

That doesn't make sense. They'd have started at just about all programs without Deion.

If anything, Deion leveraged the kids for his own personal gain. If you're going to lay blame somewhere...

Hunter starts everywhere.
Sanders starts everywhere but maybe a dozen schools, if that.
Deions other kids would have played D1 somewhere.

Sure, during the late-80’s to mid-90’s they were a damn good program. They also had the 2001 Big 12 Title. That’s irrelevant to today. They were garbage for about 15 years and spiraled FAST. Ever since their bad culture was revealed by the female kicker, they’d been a shitshow, and easily one of the worst power programs.
