Just wondering, what are you looking at? I'm on 247 sports, and they have Colorado with the 24 ranked class for this year, with last year being 22.
Remember you have to look at the overall rankings that includes transfer portal, not just recruiting.
I'm looking at On3.

if you are going off of results, this is just a false statement.
I think everyone here knows "results" in college football can be very deceiving. Deion has done well overall at Colorado in a short time. The question is can he build a sustainable program without his kids and Travis Hunter?
His grade is incomplete at this point, but I haven't seen any signs that he will be a national championship or even playoff coach.

It's possible for two things to be true at the same time.
1. Deion is an amazing hype man. He immediately brings attention, excitement, and can get kids excited to play for him. These strengths play well with the NIL and transfer portal.
2. He is ultimately a mediocre college football coach who possibly reached his ceiling last year with his son and a Heisman trophy winner.

Sure, but there’s a pretty massive gap between “not a good football coach” and “not a a championship or playoff coach”

Hope he powers through. Personally I think he’s a horse’s arse but he’s objectively made Colorado more interesting

think 6 wins or more will be a good coaching job

If he was just a regular guy and not a loudmouth, most would agree that his career trajectory is impressive
Jackson State went from 5-5 to 11-2 in 2 years. Colorado went from 1-11 to 9-4 in just two seasons

Sure they can. I think it’s safe to say that #1 is likely true. I’m not sure how anyone can definitively say that #2 is true or make the statement that he is “not a good football coach”.

Because he’s not a good head coach

His 13-12 record screams mediocrity

He's stepping away per reports

Lance Leipold is 6 games under .500 at Kansas but he’s a pretty good coach

If the medical is as bad as speculated, perfectly reasonable for him to step away. The timing is just unfortunate optics, but I'm sure he DGAF.

I’m guessing that they would make Shurmur the interim?

But of course your first reaction was “race!!!!”
I didn’t bring up race because I know the conversation always derails threads. I just responded to other people talking about it.

For saying he still has stuff to prove as a football coach? My god man.
Clearly no one knew about his potential serious health issues. That hasn't even been rumored.
