Which all changed overnight because he’s a good hype man. Sure he did an ok job. But it’s not really because he’s a good coach.

80% of college football coaching is building hype and acquiring talent. Bobby Bowden built a hall of fame career on the exact same thing. It’s not a negative like you’re trying to say.

He should retire and relax.
People will give him shite because he waits until his sons graduate to quit but I think college football is better without him.

I honestly don’t know what point you are trying to make anymore. No mental gymnastics were needed to show how bad Colorado has been the last 15+ years. A poster on here used the 1990 title to try to explain that they are a top half P5/4 team. That’s just false.
The university actively de-emphasized football. It alienated former players. You think NIL changed all that? They sucked so bad that they don’t have stars in the NFL ready to pony up for NIL.
Nobody is saying Deion is some HOF coach, but he was about as good as they could do for that situation. A hype man was what that program needed.

I guess it depends on the standards you're using. What do you consider a good coach.
Continuing to recruit good players to his program, which is has kinda failed to do these last 2 years. He's had the 35th and 65th ranked recruiting classes, even with his celebrity persona and media hype. If he wins 9 games again this year, even in the lowly Big 12, I'll say he's a good coach.

19th rated transfer portal class this year though, 2nd in the big 12

Glad that’s all he needs to do for you to say he is a good coach

I'm seeing 23rd, and that they gained 2 4 stars, lost 2 4 stars, gained 29 3 stars, and lost 33 3 stars? They were 5th in the Big 12 according to On3. They were 2nd in recruiting though in the Big 12 with their 35th ranked class.

If they win 5 games are you still going to think he's a "good" coach?

If he takes them to a bowl game again he has done a good job , yes. They haven’t done that in 20 years
Setting 9 games as the bar for Colorado is purposefully being obtuse

I just threw out 9 because that's what they won last year. More realistically, 7 wins would be impressive this season.

Guessing he's going to announce this will be his last year

So, a 5-7 record and them making a bowl means he did a good coaching job?

I think 6 wins or more will be a good coaching job

Just wondering, what are you looking at? I'm on 247 sports, and they have Colorado with the 24 ranked class for this year, with last year being 22.
Remember you have to look at the overall rankings that includes transfer portal, not just recruiting.

Jon Embree kind of skews the numbers. He was one of the worst power conference HC hires in history.

the only difference is Vandy plays in a much tougher conference.
There's an additional difference:
A free ride to a Vanderbilt education can offset one of the most expensive educations this side of the Ivy League. (A friend who paid her own way owed several hundred thousand.)

The estimated cost to attend Vanderbilt University for the 2024-2025 academic year is approximately $94,142, which includes tuition, room and board, books, and other expenses,

I mean I'm not a huge Deion fan but if you are going off of results, this is just a false statement.
