JR Jackson, host of JRSportsBrief for CBS Sports Radio, referred to Cardoso as the "giant Brazilian woman from South Carolina that knocks people over.”

“But if I’m being honest, I’m more excited for the women’s tournament. I’m ready for Angel Reese, Caitlin Clark and the giant Brazilian woman from South Carolina that knocks people over.

Staley: "What a morning?!! Never thought I’d hear one of my players described in such an offensive way. I’m not sitting this one out. Kamilla deserves an apology @CBSSports @1075thegame.

But previously..."You may not like how we play the game, you may not like it, that's the way we play," she said. "That's the way I coach.". -Dawn Staley

Is that description wrong? I'd see it as more of a compliment.

The only way it would be offensive is if she wasn’t one of these

She’s a giant
She’s Brazilian
She’s a women
She knocks people down.

Seems like stated facts

I feel like “outraged” might be her baseline.

If she didn’t have a history of being an insufferable count I wouldn’t care about this since she’s sticking up for a player. Given her history and the way this is worded (“demanding an apology”, etc) I hope JR doubles down.

Was she listening to 1075 the game on CBS sports radio hosted by JR Jackson right as he was saying this?

This is an odd thing to be tweeting about. Is that not punching WAY down for Dawn?

Would she be pissed of her player was from Athens and folks called her the Greek Freak?

I don’t understand why this bitch is always ornery and looking for shite to be mad about.

Fair enough.

Now you and c on z tell me about the white chic from BYU that was falsely maligned (racially) by the giant woman from Brazil’s coach.

I mean, it's pretty obvious that JR Jackson meant to be offensive when deciding that Cardoso wasn't worthy of being referred to by name like Clark and Reese.

The "chip on the shoulder" mentality meshes perfectly with the "we're going to foul so much the refs will stop calling it" scheme.

Another great example was the Legion of Boom with Richard Sherman and Michael Bennett.

Meh, I get her jumping on this. She’s got to do something to make her girls feel like their backs are against the wall, Saban does this shite all the time. Great coaches always find a way to make their great teams feel like underdogs.

I don't see the problem, it was an accurate description.
