Fellow right-hander J.B. Bukauskas, the 15th overall pick in 2017 out of North Carolina, also has dominant stuff. He put it on display Thursday afternoon, throwing four shutout innings to lead the Scottsdale Scorpions to an 8-0 victory over the Peoria Javelinas.

He had to have been hurt to start his career in the minors. He has been dominant lately and lived up to the scouting reports from 2017. The amount of arm depth in the system is staggering.

I don’t buy the back being the only problem, but he tried to change his approach.
Letting the ball travel was the key to his success. He still occasionally would turn on an inside pitch.
Obviously, pitchers made adjustments by busting him inside, but he lost his way when he started thinking pull.
Not joking here: Correa should hire Alex. F. Bregman as his hitting coach. Nothing like combining a compact swing with plate discipline and superior hand-eye coordination.

Tucker...somebody has to go to make room for Tucker...wasting away in AAA
Baby Tucker needs to talk with Tony Kemp and get on whatever batting program he was on. It finally clicked for Tony in 2018 and with the power that Tucker has shown in the minors he could be phenomenal.

I gave Hinch Hell for his handling of pitching in 2016, and gave him credit for establishing some good instincts in 2017.
I think overall in 2018, even being aided w the best starting staff and newly acquired pen arms, his handling of the pitching was below average.
But there is no question that come playoff time, Dave Roberts is the worst handler of his pen, probably of all time. LOL

He stole that base, though. Continuing to be a hero.

Bad news for any Astros fans holding out hope that Cora was less of a factor in our team’s performance last year.
Cora throwing Hinch under the bus on pregame show on MLBN
Said the decision to use Verlander in ALDS last year was not his decision, and he actually told Hinch he didn’t like it.
Listening to him today removes any doubt in my mind that Hinch is sucking hind teat when it comes to Cora.

Who would you have brought in in game 4?
Posted on 10/26/18 at 3:46 pm to ShaneTheLegLechler
Not a matter of who I would have brought in
A matter of who has a feel for that, and who’s pulling the triggers

Maybe I’m just a contrarian, or maybe you are, but don’t you wonder just how much Cora meant to Hinch last year?
Posted on 10/26/18 at 3:49 pm to wahoocs
And to answer the question, not bringing in our ace in a game we didn't have to win to stay alive. It doesn't matter who else they would have used instead. Having a rested Verlander start Game 5 at home was the far smarter play than risking him in his first ever relief appearance in Game 4.
It worked out but Cora is right. It was not the smart choice.

...Cora has done this exact thing this year. Chris Sale in the 8th inning game 4 of the ALDS

Well I would be interested to know Cora’s answer to the question then. Because there was a serious lack of options with McCullers Peacock and Morton not available and everyone else in our bullpen pitching terribly aside from perhaps Musgrove. You obviously think it was the wrong decision so I’d still like to hear your answer to the question

I would say Hinch showed quite the feel later in the 2017 postseason if that’s what you’re basing this off of. There are things you can criticize him for but his pitching choices that October seems like an odd one

Also this. It worked out for him. Farrell used Sale in Game 4 last year and he took the loss. Maybe you can attribute that to “feel”, I don’t.
