If she understands, she's the one.

Did I miss something? Cintrón is still our hitting coach right?

If tweet fails to load, click here. So if he ever comes back, I'm just curious to see what he even looks like. He's a completely different pitcher than what he came up as. His velo is like 92 now instead of the 95-96 he once was. He can't throw his weapon curveball after the TJ surgery. Now he's altered his delivery and arm action. Totally different guy now.

He was basically 92-94 in 20-22 and became more a pitcher with a full bag anyways. Pretty even usage of the sinker, slider, curve and his change up only a hair behind that.
Right now I’m hoping he can even get back up to 92-94. He walked a ton of guys whenever he first started going heavy sinker because of the run that pitch had he couldn’t control. His secondary stuff is just going to have to be really sharp or hopefully he’s randomly turned into a command savant and get outs that way.

We haven't talked much about the rotation. It's looking like
Framber
Brown
Spaghetti
Blanco
Wesneski
I hope I'll eat my crow at years end but I'm not buying in on a repeat for Blanco. He allowed so few hits, I think the fewest hits allowed per 9. Seems like that'll be hard to repeat. His FIP number was 4.15 so he may be due for bad regression.
Idk much about Wesneski other than he throws a good sweeper.

Agreed I’m more bullish on Spencer repeating the success he had towards the end of the year than Ronel repeating 2024. I don’t think Ronel will be unpitchable or anything but kind of regress into more of a JAG than a sub 3 guy.
Blubaugh is interesting that’s a big ole dude who looks like he throws hard. Don’t know much of anything about Gordon or Gusto but they seem like guys that are on the doorstep.
Getting one of Luis or Lance fully in the rotation and contributing at a big league level by mid/late May would be extremely helpful.

Yeah, all of the pitching he’s done has honed his control. LOL
He is an experiment at best, a cheerleader and player rep. Mostly dead weight added to our already dead payroll
Nothing personal. There are more LMJs than Gil Meches when it comes to handling their injury prone legacies

How long has it been since he pitched past the all star break?

Why wait for the season to start? I’ve been doing it all offseason.

Padres making moves.
Yes, that is what makes the signing so surprising. Nevermind that Yuli is 74 years old and can't catch up to a fastball over 91mph.

Padres have agreed to a deal with free agent first baseman Yuli Gurriel.

What makes the Padres’ move to sign Gurriel so surprising is his well-documented history with San Diego pitcher Yu Darvish.
