To be fair, we were never paying this

You’re right and I wasn’t meaning Santander specifically but we just don’t appear to be looking at any upgrade at all.

People will say that we got by with Tucker missing a huge part of last year but it’s a weak division and at some point, one of the Mariners or Rangers will not collapse.

Really wish they’d look at Profar, but it looks like he is returning to SD. I know he had an outlier great year last season but I think he’d be worth the risk, plus he’s versatile enough to play IF for the inevitable IL stint of whoever sleeps on their arm wrong or misses months for a stiff neck.

You can hate on him all you want but Big Daddy Crane has wasted so much money that Sonny Boy is still your center fielder.

For the Astros, he's cheap and easy. Just like his mother.

Hall of Fame inductees will be announced at 5PM on MLB Network this evening. With 54% of the vote known, Wagner is on 85.4% of them.

The Astros should soon have their 3rd hall of famer.

Per Feinsand, we are looking at it. Would like it a lot.

I want Profars 2023 production. I don't really want to pay him for it because it's so far out of line with his career I'm not convinced he'll repeat it.

On the other hand, he's been lauded as a clubhouse/field leader and energy guy. Something this team lacked since Springer and Correa left.

Something like 3 years and 42-48 mil or so is probably fair for Profar. I would love that, and his 2022 is probably more what to expect than last year. That would still be a big addition for us. My guess is our interest is more in the case he wants to sign a one year deal because his market hasn’t materialized

Just absolutely stupid that he had to wait until his last year of eligibility.

Him having to wait until the last year, and Ichiro not getting 100% votes is all you need to know of how much idiocy and "look how important I am" controls the HoF voting.

Cubs are among the teams that have shown interest in acquiring Ryan Pressly, who is still being very actively shopped by the Astros

I appreciate what Pressly has done overall, but he is in serious decline and I would love to offload that salary.

I know his ERA was not bad but he just looked so shaky in such a majority of games. Constantly getting behind hitters, etc.

He shite himself in the playoffs, which may be more on Espada for still trusting him.

I wonder who Pressly would waive his NTC and whether the Cubs are in that group of teams. I would think proximity to Houston and a winning team are the two major priorities and the Cubs don’t really check either

Good point

Now that you say this, very unlikely he's going anywhere.

Also Chandler

@Chandler_Rome

both parties are aware he's being shopped. they're not going to blindside him. he still reserves the right to invoke his NTC, but that he's on the block isn't news to him.
