The Mets of course boo the shite out of their own as well but that’s neither here nor there

Well not as much recently. And certainly not their 62 homer hitting star, to whom Kate is referring. I love seeing anyone sending shade to the Yanks, so it's good with me.

Mets boo'd sherzwr off the mound.

Booing or not… Mets just dumped a guy that could not give them hardly any innings for a guy that is a workhorse.
It immediately makes them better.
For the Astros, the FODB brain trust now must find a way to eat 175 innings. That could be a huge difference in the health and strength of starting and BP arms. I don’t see Hunter eating 175 innings next season.

In the regular season, at least. They needed a regular season workhorse desperately.

Brown did throw 126 innings total last regular season (minors and majors). LMJ is back healthy (hopefully to stay lol) and ready to make up the rest of those innings. They may sign a pitcher. JP France was protected for a reason. Forrest Whitley is alive (allegedly) and likely to debut next season. Innings filling is not a problem.

We talking about McCullers???
How about Rodon 6/$130mm?
I don’t trust him to stay healthy him as much as I do Whitley.

Big moves will happen soon. Crane ain't playing I'm telling you right now.

Yes, we are talking McCullers. Even if he isn't healthy all season, it's likely he ends up filling the innings gap.
We all know Big Dick Jim is not about that many years for a pitcher. We could see 5 maybe? I'm pretty sure Rodon gets a higher AAV than that though.

Asked who he's been in contact with about the Astros' baseball operations decisions since James Click departed, Dusty Baker mentioned Jim Crane, Jeff Bagwell, Enos Cabell and general counsel Giles Kibbe

Posted on 12/5/22 at 5:28 pm to Tiger Ryno
Crane and the front office have built the most successful franchise in the MLB. World Series in 17,19,21&22.
I’ll trust them until they screw up big time

Dusty Baker said he'd ideally like Yordan Alvarez to play "65 to 70 percent" of the games in left field next season.
Posted on 12/5/22 at 5:48 pm to Jwho77
Dusty also confirmed there’s interest in signing Contreras

If Contreras happens, Yed won't sniff 65% of the playing time in LF. They will force feed him a bunch of home starts while playing DH and C. It'll be a rest merry-go-round as usual.

I think we have the guys for a season long six man rotation, if all are healthy. I’m not as concerned about LMJ’s health as I am about his stuff.

So Dusty says he's been in contact with Crane, Baggy, Cabell and Astros lead counsel Giles Kibbe. Where the Firkus the acting GM?
Also struck me as odd that a field manager is saying we're going to meet with a free agent.

Dusty doesn't lower himself to speak to nerdy GMs. He can only be bothered by owners, their lawyers and good old baws who played the game.

A healthy LMJ, Hunter Brown (albeit he'll be skipped from time to time), and Javier in the rotation full time should cover that.

Based on Dustys cleanup Job on his previous Contreras comments, I'm expecting well be announcing a deal soon.

If he said that, outright, expect a fine.
Managers are not supposed to name FA targets.
