MLB Network: Against the top 25 pitchers in OPS+ against this season, Abreu was the best hitter in baseball last season at .359 with a .904 OPS.

Wow. Wpuld be a pipe dream but a big time add that checks a ton of boxes. Only question on him is injury history but high on base guy can bat LH and play CF

No one would complain about having the player but the price (years and dollars) would suck in this market. I have no doubt BDJ is kicking all tires in free agency though.

How much is winning WS Championships worth to him? His time in Houston? His prime pay for 2 seasons he didn’t perform? The tax break he gets in TX?
I expect none of those things matter at all. And that doesn’t bother me, b/c I think his money is better spent elsewhere
Hunter Brown is a clone that just needs the experience and won’t cost anything for awhile. He could be Pena-like in replacing JV

Offense needs more attention. JV is a luxury, a welcomed one, but the rotation should be fine without him if it comes to that.

CF is already fine with healthy internal options. Another FA bat who can play LF or C would be great.
