Half the time, yeah. Maldy has a year left so he's going to be here. The dye is cast.

Wouldn’t you rather Vazquez? I really think he is a better fit. And probably a lot cheaper.

I really think he and Mancini suffered from FODB’s frickery.

I mean, I think I'd rather Conforto or someone like that with a cheap catcher who has some pop for this one year. Vasquez signing back seems unlikely since he should start somewhere.

You’re right. I just feel like it was a missed opportunity for us. He should have been starting and Maldy should have become Castro…which is what I think Cluck wanted.

Vazquez should have taken the no hit ball from game 4 to FODB and given the Robby Benson red hot poker speech from “One on One.” Yes I’m showing my age here.

As much as I think his defense is slightly overrated and his “handling” of the staff is exaggerated, there is just no way in Hell you take a chance of disrupting whatever this staff has going for it

I don’t know if an entire staff has pitched at the level this one has this past year in the history of the game, comparatively speaking

And I mean arm for arm

He was pretty arse in 2022 but he's been a good offensive catcher in the past. I imagine he's not looking to split time with Maldy though

I mean in retrospect it’s hard to disagree with your point. But I guess I was just thinking that we would’ve eventually regressed to the mean on pitching at some point….we didn’t, which still blows my mind. And Vazquez seemed to have just as good of rapport with the pitchers once he settled in.

Pete Bell had Western rolling until that weird press conference.

Was Western University the school name used in both?

Is there a tie in there that I’m not aware of?
