So you think we trade everyone in two or three years? A rational person says hey even if we lose a springer we have a fisher.

Springer cant leave for 2 more seasons.

Regardless Springer>>>>>>>>>>Fisher maximize the window that we have him by getting a staff to go around this young core.

Extremely disappointing.

The smart teams went in big on their bullpen. Bullpen is incredibly important in the post season. See 2015

Luhnow saw the trends so he went out and got Liriano

Well, at least I didn't self-ban myself for a month over Francisco fricking Liriano.

Eh. Just looked over most of the trades and to be honest with you, there's really not a ton of moves that are exactly breathtaking.

Hand
Britton
Darvish
Verlander

None of them moves. Names just to fluff the deadline hype

Luhnow botched this. Francisco Liriano is your big acquisition? Thats it? Hand and Britton were pricey. Fine. Hoard your prospects. But..

Kahnle
Swarzak
Madson
Doolite
Kintzler
Roberton
Reed

There were upgrades available that wouldn't have cost the whole farm. 2 deadlines in a row that Luhnow has just sat like bump on a log and deferred to next year so he could keep his prospect hoard in tact.

You feel comfortable with LMJ, Peacock, and McHugh as our 2, 3, 4 in a series and holding the runs down when we aren't putting up 10 runs against a quality staff?

Yes.

You either assume DK and Lance are going to be fine, or adding another guy gets you nowhere.

The only pitching staff that scares me is Cleveland, (because we historically suck against them.)

Boston can only run Sale out twice in a 7 game series. None of their other starters are scary

We just beat Sonny Gray a month ago, and we've beaten the Yankees other Starters plenty in the last 2 years.

What pitching staff specifically, are you concerned with?

e.g., Nola, Verlander just shite on us

Man... you are all over the map with your melt.

Nola and Verlander have totally different games with a healthy Springer and Correa in the lineup. If you can't see that, then I suggest you to become a WNBA fan.

For the record, I am not exactly happy with Luhnow not making any significant moves. I do like the Liriano trade - even though he paid a lot for 2 months. I think Liriano strengthens the team.

But once healthy, I expect the Astros offense to be back to the 7+ runs per game average that it performed at most of this season.

I don't disagree with any of that.

Just have to hope Liriano is the LOOGY that Houston has been missing.l this year.

Im sorry but this line that keeps getting repeated is complete bullshite.

Everyone points out the Royals WS run with their staff and last years Indians playoff staff.

You are taking a huge leap on both getting back to form but not as big of a leap on one of the two getting close.
If you add yu gray or quintana to either lance or Dallas who are pitching somewhat close to where they pitched early in the year and you can feel good about the rotation.

It doesnt have to be BOTH get healthy or we are screwed. In fact making the trade ensures that we arent screwed.
