It's also amazing that Altuve only has 2500 hits, as amazing as his career has been it reminds you of what an amazing accomplishment 3000 hits is

He'll get there, but he doesn't need to

His post-season numbers already ensure his HOF induction

And unlike Biggio, Altuve actually has been more team oriented in his approach at the plate. He's never been patient and decides this year that he's going to give it a try.

He's by far not the smartest player, but he has earned a lifetime benefit of the doubt from this guy.

Altuve is the Greatest Astro,
and Art Howe was my Astro Buddy, and Cedeno, the Rooster , tragically assaulted by old school Orbit. Loved the Biggio and Bagwell days

But as an Astro, there's no doubt the greatest Astro and absolutely belongs in the Hall of Fame, and whatever bullshite that people want to talk about the trash can Altuve had nothing to do with that; never did. It's on the record, but Beltran is in the Hall of Fame, and he was absolutely involved in that, so if he's in, Altuve is in

I just can't see any reason not to sell at the deadline. There's so many holes on this team where production just isnt good enough

Multiple starting pitchers
The entire outfield
First base
Second base
Catcher
RH relief

You can't fill all that. I don't think the team should fancy themselves buyers just because they're close in a shite division. Be real about this team. Its not good. Dont sell assets from an already shite farm system to try to plug holes on a clearly bad team that certainly won't win a world series.

I feel like Pena particularly needs to be traded. His inconsistent health this year hasn't helped but when in the lineup, he showed that last years uptick wasn't a fluke. Hes hitting well. Hes a free agent after next season, we don't even know if theres going to be a next season. We could end up holding onto him on a team going nowhere and then lose him after a non-season in 2027. Trade him.

It's really amazing how we though Crane was brilliant at one time but it's become obvious that he caught lightning in the bottle with Luhnow.

Luhnow was so good, he had teams hacking into our database to steal scouting reports.

Our senior signings in the draft were helping lead us to playoff appearances. Our senior signings now can’t even start for their college teams.

He’s the one guy I didn’t understand trading last offseason because we would still have had a full infield without him (not knowing about Carlos’s injury of course) We actually had a surplus of something and didn’t take advantage. They are not proactive at all.

Instead they tried to trade Parades, a player that had more team control and is someone you could actually extend without breaking the bank.

I’ve sat back all season lurking in the DATs.

With this terrible outfield, shaky pitching and being carried by a MVP season from Yordan alongside a nice first half of a season from Walker… this team has to sell at the deadline.

It’s a sellers market and we need to get out of purgatory. Too many holes to fill with not enough assets to be buyers.

I think someone said it before either here or on mlbtraderumors that this team feels like the post 2005 teams.

With the lockout looming, buyers will overspend with payday loans.

Unfortunately I don’t trust Brown to make those moves with his job on the line.

Take a play out of LSU’s playbook by bringing back Wade and do the same with Luhnow.

Interested in seeing if Blanco has anything left. And we might see Sousa too.
Pena back at SS.
Trammell gets the start over Cam.
Dezenzo in LF. They are taking a look at Spence - back in CF.
Wade at 1st

It's a travesty what they did to him in Moneyball.

Philip Seymour Hoffman got better treatment in Red Dragon.
