If they don’t come back tonight, what a bummer of a start to a manageable homestand.

Offense got shut down by some good pitching a couple of times, starters let you down Pirates series a bit, but most importantly the manager completely let his team down with his lack of feel. Twice the opposition and the starter were telling you “be happy with the five innings and let’s mix and match to bring things home” instead he lets LHH tee off a RHP the third time through. The Abreu decision on Friday was impossibly dumb as well. He’s actively putting his teams in worse positions than they need to be in multiple times a week. It’s incredibly frustrating to watch

Pirates are good though. They should go for it. Check in on Skubal, call for some RH pop, and completely retool the bullpen. That rotation will play up in the postseason if they get there

Dude lauded for not striking out strikes out twice in Astros debut.

Price looked absolutely dreadful against breaking balls in the at bats I saw. Like, not even close.

Meyers shows why he just can’t make it as a mainstay in the lineup

I mean this game was lost, but when you’re in a 3-2 count down by 4 and you know the pitcher isn’t going to walk you with Pena and Yed on deck and in the hole, with a man already on, and he throws you a middle middle FB and the best you can do is fight it off, here’s your sign…….

Well, there’s also the fact he has to carry a bat in the OF in order to get the ball back into the IF. LOL

I hope they do. Lifelong Astros fan but loved the 70s Pirates with Pops, The Cobra, Madlock, Scrap Iron, Tekulve etc.

Have we talked about how incompetent the Sanchez - Loperfido - Wade timeline has gone? Wade reeks of some desperate back of the baseball card tomfoolery

When you only draft dudes who can't actually hit and you can't teach them how to hit, you eventually realize you need guys like Wade who can actually make contact consistently.

And by "guys like Wade," I mean versions of him who are not left on the street to rot.

Loperfido is a better hitter than Wade at this point. Sanchez is far better than both. Just complete fumbling by Dana and the staff.

Unfortunately get ready to learn Justin Lebron in a few weeks too. He’s a more baseball polished version of Brice Matthews per my scout buddy that as in Tuscaloosa this past weekend. Can’t hit a lick
