I predict a lot of hate and faux outrage in this thread this week.
Let the pearl clutching commence.

ESPN’s Major League Baseball coverage for the week ahead will feature several highlights, including the Star Wars-themed telecast on Tuesday, May 4, when the New York Yankees host the Houston Astros at 7:30 p.m. ET. The Star Wars-themed telecast is in celebration of “May the fourth” and will feature ESPN commentators dressed in full costume as Star Wars characters, plus custom on-screen animations. Karl Ravech, dressed as Luke Skywalker, will provide commentary with analysts Tim Kurkjian (as Yoda) and Eduardo Perez (as a Jawa). Marly Rivera will report from Yankee Stadium.
Kurkjian and ESPN commentator and resident Star Wars expert Clinton Yates will share MLB names with Star Wars ties, and Kurkjian will highlight his favorite FORCE plays of all-time. Host Steve Levy (dressed as Darth Vader) will anchor studio highlights during the game.
Awful Announcing- May 4th MLB

I absolutely can do without all of this stupid shite. Just show me a ballgame and talk about the ballgame....kinda like they used to always do back in the day.

I'm honestly much more interested in what's going to happen in Corpus Christi tonight. Batting leadoff at shortstop, Pedro Leon.

I don't have Sportsnet on tv so I watch internet streams so usually when they're on a national broadcast I can watch on TV, I'll do that just for the convenience factor but I've got no interest in watching the clown show they're going to make of this tonight. Its going to be peak cringe and they're going to continually force it into conversation because this is a cooperate dictate for Disney product placement.
ETA: I do own exactly 1 share of Disney. Should I contact Bob Chapek and tell him to knock it off?

Yes. This is it in a nutshell.

Yes, I know it's this. But shut up all you stealers of fun. This game is early in most of the country. Maybe some kids will watch. Y'all are all a bunch of fun stealers. It's not like this changes the game at all.
And mostly, I'm happy to see it on a real TV instead of an ipad, since I'm still living in the Residence Inn while my house is repaired from the freeze.

I won’t be watching. But if the Astros lose I will be happy. And I HATE the Yankees.....

Check back with us in the 7th inning while the bases are loaded and Tim Kurkjian is dressed up as Yoda and telling you "Enjoy these Quirkijans you must".

I will be watching and I will laugh. If the Astros are winning there is nothing to prevent me from enjoying this game! #moresportsboardfunstealers

If this Star Wars game tonight is anything like the Marvel game last night with Pels vs Warriors, it will be all time cringe.
