1-4. Peacock is responsible for 3 of the 4 losses.

I don’t know off hand but I can guarantee it’s bad. We beat San Diego on a failed popup catch in the infield. I can’t remember any others. Peacock though has mastered 4 walkoff wins though.

Time for Peacock to pitch in the minors until he clears his head

The game winner was obviously on Peacock but what exactly was George doing there? No chance to throw him out backing up.

Severino is a dawg but Kuckel's one last saving grace imo is his ability to pitch against the Yanks

He has no options left. We have to do something. This team deserves a better BP. If we had a closer and that meant Giles devo and peacock didn’t have to pitch as many high leverage innings, it would make a big difference.

The encouraging thing is we can revamp the pen for fairly cheap. The Nats turned the backend from a 2018 Astros style liability to a strength with 2 moves.

The issue is I dont know when Ludlow is going to get aggressive.

why was springer playing so deep? Seems like he’d be shallow to protect against shallow singles. Maybe I misread his positioning and I already changed the gd channel

The Astros have got to do something with their bullpen. This team is too good to let the bullpen blow games time after time.

So...could have won the series with Cleveland and relievers fricked tHat up and could have won the series with Yankees and relievers did it again. That shite can mess up team mojo I’d imagine.

All this shite stems from Giles being a fricking headcase. Dude can't close out a 5 run lead and ultimately fricks our bullpen for days. But I can't put it all on the pen. The offense couldn't capitalize in 5 errors. 3/17 with RISP. Where's the killer instinct? Meanwhile the Yankees rookies pick up a 2 out 0-2 double and a walk off Single from a 21 year old.

Choke City is rearing it's ugly head the last 3 days.

Yeah Luhnow’s track record is outstanding in most areas except for trade deadline. I guess you could count Verlander on 8/31, but still. Not sure if it’s waiting too long or what. He has no problems pulling off big trades in the offseason and he isn’t afraid to deal prospects so who knows

I just hope he doesn’t try to try the whole buy low thing like he did with Liriano. If he is confident that Whitley can play a part in the pen then I’m game for that but definitely not cool with that being “the big move”

So Josh James went 7 innings 1 run 1 walk 9 ks today lowers his PCL era to 3.38 with a 1.13 WHIP. Can it be worse than some of the dead weight we are carrying in the pen?

6 games against the Yankees 2-4 record. 3 of the losses were late inning bullpen meltdowns.

Giles blew a tie game with 4 runs
Harris blew the 9th inning lead
Devo blew the 9th inning lead

Might want to figure that shite out before we see em October Jeff.

No. He couldn’t. This bullpen can survive against a lot of teams but it’s no coincidence we’re blowing games against the teams we’re fighting for playoff spots and home field advantage against. They’ve seen our relievers a ton and they don’t fear anyone in our pen.

We have to make some changes. I know we intend to use a starter or two in the pen come playoff time. But if we keep this bullpen you’ll continue to see blown saves.

What kills me is they have to be the most rested bullpen in MLB history to this point and yet their incompetence in doing their jobs has stretched them thin. That should tell you how bad they are as a group. One guy comes in and does well, maybe two. Then the next guy blows it and the next guy can’t hold it until the offense comes around. Then the guys that were good the last outing, fall apart and the other guys are okay. It’s mindboggling. We need some new faces.

Sipp is a waste of a roster spot. Giles is a headcase. Peacock Had a dream season last year but he is now the guy that was about to get released. Devo is overworked. Mchugh is still trying to make the transition. Smith and rondon are okay here and there but just as inconsistent. Harris the same. It’s time to make some changes.

To fix it, release sipp and get brad hand. He’s a lefty and he’s a closer. He pitches the 9th. All anyone else needs to do is get their 3 outs.

Other names to watch for

Raisel Iglesias
Kelvin Herrara

Hand would be nice but the padres are idiots almost on the level of baltimore...

ETA Familia is also someone to look for if the mets continue their downturn

Cut Sipp- He's wasted space

Trade McHugh- He's worth more to somebody else as a starter than he is as a long reliever to us with this rotation

Move Peacock back to his swing man role from early last year where he can give you 1 or 2 innings.

Pick up a legitimate LH reliever.

Add a high leverage late inning guy

This frees up Harris and Smith as middle inning or matchups guys, frees up Devo to potentially be used as vs LHP and leaves you to chose from some combo of Rondon, Giles and the other late leverage guy. In addition, you get enough redundancy to give guys the night off.

Raisel Iglesias

There was a bleacher report article that came out over the weekend with a bunch of trade predictions. We were projected to get this guy Iglesias for about 4 prospects, to include Alvarez, Armenteros, and two others. It was too many good prospects imo. I should have linked the article when I saw it but didn’t.

A couple days after it came out, like two days ago, Iglesias went on the 10-day DL with an injury. Can’t remember what it was though.
