1) Can Miles Straw be a reasonable everyday starter in center field? My early answer is an emphatic "NO" and I predict he will have us longing for Reddick by the end of April.

Agreed except for the Reddick part.

2) Is Yuli broken forever? I think the answer is also "No". I am not sure he will have a "monster year", but I think he will be productive enough again to justify our love.

Accurate.

3) Will the young bullpen arms that we saw grow up before our very eyes last year hold up over a full 2nd season? I am very optimistic here also. I hope Dusty doesn't overuse them and have them run down by August, but I like the bullpen and think it will be a strength.

Dusty likes to destroy starting pitchers' arms, not so much the bullpen. Remember what he did to Mark Prior and Kerry Wood?

4) Is it winnable?

It never is.

Jake Kaplan on the podcast mentioned that he thought Straw is an upgrade on D vs Springer except fans don't feel that way. And I do not understand why he thinks that. I mean he's fast but I can remember plays he did not make that I thought Springer would. I also don't see that he has ever had an outfield assist. I have 0 faith in him and treat him like Nacho at the plate..just expect nothing and anything else is bonus. I would be happy with a .245 BA and .340 OBP.

Should be a lofty game, mates - my NL team the Brewers have Woody on the bump for the matinee

Astros roster moves:

LHP Kent Emanuel, RHP Jake Odorizzi, C Garrett Stubbs and IF Abraham Toro optioned.

RHP Josh James, RHP Austin Pruitt, RHP Andre Scrubb, LHP Framber Valdez on 10-day IL, retro to March 29.

10-day list for Frambaw is good news.

I wish they had kept last years scheduling format. I'd gladly swap our 7:00 games for 8:00 games if it also meant the elimination of the 9:00 games. Theres huge difference in games that end at 11 vs games that end after midnight.

Astros after dark hits harder than it used to.

That's encouraging. Doesn't mean he'll be back right away but they've at least got some hope that they didn't have to 60 day him initially.
