I haven’t looked at stats, but I know that White Sox kid is a stud
Not Yed, but gonna be around for awhile

God remember what Kyle Lewis did to us in that opening series of the season?

Having Yordan complicates signing Brantley a little because you can't give him as many half days at DH. Moving Tucker to RF also makes for a weaker defense. I'm still all over it if it's 2 for 30 or something like that, but I could see why they might want to go younger and more athletic in the open corner spot.
I think Brantley is the 3rd or 4th best OF available... depending on how you feel about Joc Pederson. Springer is obviously #1, and Ozuna is a pretty strong #2... I don't think there's any chance the Astros go after Ozuna, so if they don't resign Springer, they need to go hard after Brantley.
And then figure out CF... Jackie Bradley Jr. and Jake Marisnick are both available, but they just don't hit.
Tucker has played some CF in the minors, he played more CF than anything else his first few seasons, but no idea how capable he really is or if the coaching staff is comfortable with him there.

Started off hot, finished ice cold.
.766 OPS in July (only 7 games)
1.015 OPS in August (26 games)
.409 OPS in Sep/Oct (23 games)
Finished with 73 Ks in 227 PA.

I'm beating the drum for Adam Eaton.
So assuming we've lost both Springer and Brantley (God that's a lot of production to fill), we need 2 OF right? I'm drawing a blank on an internal candidate to fill a starting spot.

Wouldn't be a bad time to think about Altuve to LF tbh. He's a butcher at 2b.

Correct.
Internal candidates: Diaz, Straw, McCormick, Taylor Jones all on the 40-man.
Prospects: Ronnie Dawson, but he's a strikeout machine.

Yeah, Altuve could just underhand it to a deep short positioned Correa for the plays at the bases
Otherwise, he could run it in faster than throw it

Not wild about any of them either offensively, defensively or both. Bringing back Marwin to play LF and utility man was something that crossed my mind but Marwins better days in the OF are probably behind him and I guess he sort of duplicates what Diaz is.

I’d want Profar as the Marwin type of player to fill LF and some other spots. Having more versatility is never a bad thing

Would it be ridiculous to consider Bregman in the OF for a season and sign a third baseman or first baseman?
ETA: Or Yuli.

I already did in this thread, if Brantley were to be re-signed. I think a rotation of Yuli/Yed/Brantley in left field would make sense. Cross train Uncle Mike at 1B. I am assuming the team will play Tucker in RF a lot at this juncture.

Marisnick is also a FA this year.

MLB Trade Rumors put out their top 50 free agents predictions today. They've got us adding Jackie Bradley at 2/$16M and Brad Hand at 2/$14M.
FWIW, they've got Springer to the White Sox 5/$125M

$25 million isn't a bad number, but 5 years? Would the Astros match this?

I think so.
5/$125M seems on the cheaper side for George.

I don’t think George will sign with the Astros. He will want to put the Scandal behind him.
I still think he will be Red Sox bound. He will find protection from negative publicity with a true big market team.

Nah Red Sox are farther than one piece away from competing. They just shed Mookie because payroll, they aren't going to add salary to flounder in a deep division IMO.
