Looks like a ton of nothing. But apparently the contract tender deadline is Friday. I read somewhere that Houston would like to get it done by then so they can set their own numbers. If it’s not done by Friday, it’s not going to get done.

Jay Bruce back to the Mets 3/39. Would have taken him at that price.

Yu Darvish has reportedly narrowed down his potential landing sports to #Rangers, #Yankees, #Cubs, #Astros and #Twins, per @JeffWilson_FWST.

To which Yu responded

I know one more team is in.

I think we need to trade for Gerrit Cole and sign Yu Darvish.

I honestly don't want to see Yu in the orange. Ever.

So per Jon Morosi on Hot Stove:

“At about 1 in the morning, I got a text from a source, who was not one of the sources I spoke with yesterday, saying ‘You might be right.....in a couple days....this is still alive.’ “

If they’re that interested in Cole then a couple mil at most difference in arb money isn’t going to kill the deal. I’m sure they would prefer they get to file under their number, and they can use that date to put their finger on the Pirates and try to get it done

So I’m trying to learn the ins and outs of twitter. Now that I’m sort of following a ton of Astros accounts, etc etc.

Someone explain this like I’m 5....

What is #AstrosTwitter? I’ve searched the hashtag...and there’s really nothing special. Is it just the name for the group of the same people talking about the Astros?

Sort of like ya here? #AstrosTD?

Sorry for learning. Get off my lawn. I don’t even have a Snapchat.

Last year's healthy Jake was a good player. Good deal.

Could Carlos Gonzalez be Carlos Beltran 2.0?

Was Carlos Beltran ever an annoying childish a-hole?

Richard Justice just made an interesting comment.

“Bottom line is the Astros aren’t dealing their young RH, Forrest Whitley, who they expect to pitch in Houston this year.”

Not only did he mention Whitley in Houston in ‘18, he made no mention of not trading Kyle Tucker.

Yeah it wouldn’t surprise me if he gets a chance this year, even if it’s to pitch in the bullpen in the later part of the season.

From the research I've done, no.

Beltran is quite the opposite, if reports are true.

Pirates are playing a game of chicken here.

They want Torres from the Yankees or one of Whitley/Tucker from the Astros. Neither team is offering that. I don't think either will trade those players.

Eventually, Pittsburgh will pick the best deal available and ship Cole. Then they will trade McCutchen.
