Yeah, if we were to spend $ on a bat it needs to be an upgrade over Gattis, who is consistently a productive hitter despite not being anything spectacular. But the trend now is that your DH isn’t necessarily some cleanup hitting slugger, just has to be a solid piece.

I would rather give Gattis 500 abs at DH. Use what money we have to buy bullpen pieces. If anything for offense we need LH power OF

Gattis/Moran DH pain train

Could we at least get some bullpen rumors

I wonder what kind of contract Logan Morrison will get. Not someone I'd wanna overpay for but if you could flip Gattis for pen pieces and sign Morrison, the lineup becomes a lot more balanced.

Reddick (L)
Altuve (R)
Correa (R)

Gurriel (R)

I just think they'll roll with the in-house young guys to earn at bats in LF and DH. If no one steps up or not enough, they can always trade for an expiring veteran during the season.
This next season, at least early on, should present the chances for Fisher, Moran, tKing, Reed and Davis to show what they can do.

Rental market could be pretty wild at the deadline this year with what next winter's class will look like

I do wanna see Fisher get regular AB's. Marwin can DH most days and let Fisher play LF

Assuming we carry 12 position players I would like to see
McCann
New Defensive Catcher
Yuli
Altuve
Correa
Bregman
George
Reddick
Marwin
Jake
DH
Gattis
Then let Moran/Fisher/White/Reed/Davis battle it out for the last spot in spring training, with the guys with more versatility (aka not Reed) having an edge. Whichever one of those guys wins it playing a lot vs RHP with Marwin in LF Yuli at 1B Gattis at DH vs LHP

Quite a few teams actually need a 1B so I don’t think LoMo would fall into our lap. As Jwho said, we are deep enough to start the season without adding a bat, then progress from there.

Just wanted to throw it out real quick that I am deeply saddened about the death of Roy Halladay today. He was an absolute monster as a pitcher, and he is one of the better ones I have ever seen. He played the game the right way and did it with such class. He is gonna be a future Hall of Famer no matter what, but it's sad that he won't be alive for it. Hopefully I speak for everyone in saying RIP Roy Halladay, and prayers to his wife and two sons. Sad sad day in baseball today.

What up fellas? Great season. Still can't believe it.
I dropped off the board this summer. Lost my sister in May and my participation in threads and TD in general decreased dramatically from there on. The August slump didn't help bring me back reading all the negativity but it's great to be World Series Champs.
That being said, and I haven't read the whole thread yet but what's everyone think about Marwin? I see us dangling him in trades. His value is high and this is his last year before FA. Don't get me wrong, I love me some Marwin but I just see us going this route.

One year of Marwin is better than what we could get back in a trade. He is so valuable to how this team operates.

Marwin was a hell of a player last year. His versatility is amazing and a guy like him is hard to find. Guys like him getting paid < 6 mill next year are gems. We'll ride his final year out and try to win another championship with the same roster before opening up the checkbook. Marwin is gonna get paid next year, and it won't be from us.

I agree on Marwin...he's the versatile piece that makes a lot of the Hunching possible.
Did Bregs earn the 2 spot in the postseason or does Reddick slide back into that spot next year?

Don’t think it matters where Bregs hits. Dude is a fricking ball player
