Couldn't sleep last night, and I think I finally fell asleep about 2:30, after the time change. The end of the LSU game followed by the final out of Game 6 was the best 10-minute stretch of sports in my life, and I've been an active fan of both teams for roughly 45 years.
This. I live in Lake Charles where there are a lot of Astros fans and of course, a ton of LSU fans. Seemed like everyone I talked to had two TVs. Friends at the LSU game kept texting for Astros updates. To get those two endings 10 or so minutes apart is just surreal. I don’t think I feel asleep until well after 01:00 trying to process what had just happened.

I had an out of body experience in the 30 seconds following the Yordan tank

Posted this in the other thread, but this is where it belongs:
My son came over last night to watch the games with me. After the Astros won the WS hot on the heels of LSU beating Bama, he asked me, “Dad, is this the greatest sports day of your life?” I contemplated before answering because I’ve been blessed to have some great ones. Eventually, though, I answered “yes”. The combination of those two literally within minutes of each other is unsurpassed. It’s the absolute pinnacle of sports fandom.

Watched it like 70 times today. An absolute no doubter. 6th inning on had to be a lot of fun.
Framber was a beast this postseason too

There isn’t a doubt for me. Been going to LSU games since the 90s seen lsu beat bama in person 4 times
Finding out the Astros won the World Series on the 25 yard line is hard to beat

Y’all remember that time we won the World Series? that was fun

Yeah the two endings felt like seconds apart though I'm guessing 5-ish minutes?
That's what made it so insane.

Tried to get a ticket, but ultimately didn't want to pay $1K +. I ended up watching the game and the LSU game at the LSU Houston alumni's official spot and it was a pretty awesome atmosphere.

Greatest win of my fandom. The 2018 buzzsaw we ran through against Boston in the ALCS, then the 2019 Game 7 WS that was mismanaged by Hunch, the ESS scandal (the Stros were really the only team punished when at least 8 other teams also used ESS), the 2020 ALCS roller coaster which almost saw the Stros come back from being down 3-0 and forcing a Game 7, to the 2021 World Series which saw the Stros’ bats go cold and go on to lose to a “Get hot at the right time 88 win Braves team,” to the 2022 back to back sweeps of the Mariners and Yankees to get back to the World Series, where the Astros went down 2-1, then got hot and won three straight to secure a World Series Championship!!!!
I can’t wait until March 30 when we see another leaf blower! Go Stros!!!!

Robert Flores big mad at me. Media members are such titty babies.

The Astros and Chicago Cubs were in agreement on a trade to send star catcher Willson Contreras to the Astros for starter Jose Urquidy, four sources familiar with the deal told ESPN. The straight-up trade was agreed upon, pending owner approval. That approval never came.
Interesting tidbit from a Passan article today

That would have sucked. Glad it didn't happen.
Posted on 11/6/22 at 2:07 pm to Jwho77
Yep we needed Urquidy in the regular season, and loved the possibility of Urquidy coming out of the bullpen for the Stros, we didn’t need him, which is awesome, but I’m glad he was there if we did.
