yeah, I like the game, would enjoy a thread focused on the game. The DAT has its traditions but it stays pretty game-focused

I did my share of trash talk pre-game in the barves thread but this constant interruption(s) from yankees fans is never actual game based ,

I'll say it the ny rookies have played good defense, I'll give em credit
We're gonna have to earn this series

theyre not baseball fans they seem to be bandwagon based

prolly cowboy and laker fans as well

Anyone have any rooting interest one way or another in the NL series?

Padres. I have family in SD and that city has no sports success.

Absolutely.

If we're talking who we'd want to face if the Astros advanced. No idea. From a neutral standpoint, I wouldn't mind seeing San Diego go to the world series for the first time in forever.

Facing Musgrove after his comments would be interesting

But I still have PTSD from Soto

Should the Astros win the ALCS, I’d rather face the Phillies, for a chance to exorcise the demons that have haunted me since 1980

Not only that, but I honestly can’t decide which is a better matchup. Seems like a very 50/50 proposition. I guess we should just be rooting for them to throw a ton of innings.

They are very similar teams honestly and both playing well. Top of Philly’s rotation is better, San Diego’s staff is probably deeper. Philly’s lineup has more pop and not super athletic, San Diego strikes out less and a better defensively. Besides that they are very alike. I think it will be a great series and I’m enjoying watching it instead of Dodgers Braves or Mets Cardinals or something

I expect weird things to happen the next 3 games in NY

We know how MLB has famously overturned/not overturned replay calls against the Astros the last few years on stuff that was obvious. They didn't waste any time calling Alvarez out and the announcers made it seem like they were looking at the catch on Judge's flyout like Jesus might have interfered or something. This on top of Mr. 6-8 inch outside ump.

They're gonna frick the Astros somehow, these games need to be not close
