How is it interference when it wasn’t in the field of play?
Because it’s Boston

I don’t think he would have made the catch but it would have been close even though he was into the stands.

What’s relevant is there wasn’t enough to overturn.
They got the initial call wrong.

Looking at it again, it may not have been over the wall. Mookie was a couple feet short off the wall when he jumped. And the fans did reach a bit.

Clearly ball was in the stands

Agreed. The fan that moved Betts glove had his hand tucked into his body. The other fans were reaching but never contacted Betts

How short do yall think those fan arms are where their legs are up against the wall and their hands, which are attached to their extended arms, arent over the wall?
Honest question.

The ball over the wall is the fans ball. That’s the rule. It’s only interfence if fan reaches over into the field of play.

Am I the only one legitimately angry right now? I normally try to keep my emotions in check, but frick. As soon as they said they’re going to replay from MLB officials, you should have known.

This is what happens when you have the replay crew in Birmingham.

If the fan's hand/etc is not in the field of play, it isn't interference.
It looked to me like he was absolutely going to rob it, but it looked like it was over to me. Still not interference if I'm right on that.
I'm 99% sure that's the rule. Kind of unbelievable they don't have a better camera angle in today's day and age.

The fan did not reach over at all. I'm in disbelief

frick the MLB replays
Joe west has to make that call in real time
You should fricking use slow mo replay and make the right fricking call
“Call stands” is a complete pussy move

If the fan is not ejected, wouldn’t that point to the idea it WASN’T interference?

It's just painful to even have to say this, so I just prefer silence.

Ball was over the yellow line when the fan hit it. It’s a homerun

Make up call for the missed call on Kemp's catch last night. We're all even.
