So who we hoping to face in the CS?
A little murky for me. Cleveland has been playing really good baseball over the last month. They're 28-11 since the start of September including playoffs. They've got good starting pitching, their bullpen has been lights out in the post. Other side, The Yankees bullpen is a bit of a mess right now having lost some key contributors.
I think I lean toward Cleveland based on their offense vs our pitching. We know well that punishing a mistake pitch may make all the difference in winning or losing a game. Cleveland isn't going to do much of that. They were second to last in home runs. I look at a playoff game and they're typically tight ball games, 1 homerun can be the difference. The Yankees can sting you that way. Indians need rallies, they're a contact club, fewest strikeouts in baseball...but we play good defense.
Definitely think the Indians are the tougher path pitching wise. But the strength of our club being pitching, you might want the lesser offense. And I know our staff did dominate the Yanks this year. They just strike me as more dangerous at a given moment. Plus again, with our strength as pitching, Jacobs Field is more beneficial than Mickey Mouse Memorial Little League park in New York.

I would think there should be some who know the Nola boys or their family.

Gonna suck for the NLCS teams with the transcontinental travel and time zone changes. Hopefully it goes seven, and they destroy each others pitching.

I think I want the Yankees to win in 5.
We seem to struggle in playoffs against hot teams (see Nationals and Braves)

Cole has never been stellar in elimination games. Haven't been all that impressed by Yankees pitching.

Whichever team wins. I refuse to wish for an opponent after 2019 and 2021.
That said, the Yankees are basically our bitch.

And the Padres were the Dodgers bitch. They played to prove a point.
Idk. You can look at all these things on paper and point to who you want to play but that don't amount to a whole lot. Ask the Dodgers and Braves.

Yeah, I'm thinking the Padres may have shot their wad against the Dodgers. Phillies should take comfort in knowing that Bob Melvin is in the opposing dugout.

Kind of felt the same watching the team and fan celebrations last night. This felt like their world series. That's often a cliche from the losing side but it feels true. They used so much emotional capital to clear that hurdle of beating their division rival who's owned them. They were living for that moment but by the way you've still got 2 more series to win.
They've either gotten over that hump and play loose and care free or they've emotionally and mentally exhausted themselves and they come out flat.

Here’s to tomorrow night going 20 innings and each manager waking up deciding to ride with Bieber and Nestor
I’m assuming Cole wouldn’t pitch until game 3?

Good chance of rain at first pitch in New York tonight. Cross your fingers for some delays and an 18 inning affair.

The meltdown the Astros social media team caused from a funny little graphic is astounding

In my experience, be careful what you wish for
So my feelings on the game tonight really don't center around who wins, but more that the outcome be a war of attrition such as we witnessed Saturday with our boys

If for some reason they don’t get it in tonight I am guessing Cleveland throws Bieber tomorrow
