There’s no way to sound contrite at this point, and to be honest If apologies are coming they should’ve come immediately not at a staged event.

Apologies like this are pointless. Nobody believes you are genuine. Just say you broke the rules, you understand their are consequences for that, and move on.

Right, and the same people with sand in their vaginas over the apologies are the same ones who were demanding them.

At some point, you have to dismiss people like Patrick who will refuse to be satisfied with anything the Astros do. Every player could hang themselves in the public square and people would bitch because they struggled before dying and call it an insincere suicide.

How so?

Well for starters it's illegal and if one gets caught they're going to jail.

Oh if we are talking about legal consequences, sure. I was talking about the impact it has on the game and its players. This literally ruined lives. If a ref throws a game, the only life it ruins is their own.

What lives have been ruined that couldn't have also been ruined by a ref throwing a game and that team losing due to refs vs losing to the Astros cheating?

Seriously? Think about that a little harder. A ref throwing a game can have just as many, if not more consequences for players.

Screw the Astros. I hope they win 50 games this year and YES players should but suspended.

Bolsigner is a perfect example. His performance against the Astros directly cost him his job and completely derailed his career.

How does a player get fired for blatant referee miscalls?

How pathetic of an organization do you have to be to cheat like this

Especially in baseball

Bolsinger was a shitty pitcher with a 6.0 career ERA. Not one fricking person lost a job or money for one bad performance against the best offensive team in baseball. They lost their jobs because they were shitty in the rest of their performances

GMs, Managers get fired. Players can get traded if a team doesn't perform to certain standards.

if that ref throwing games is behind the plate, and he fricks over a starting pitcher, how's that any different?

and 2) that it will all blow over by the end of April.

What does this NOT blowing over look like?

1) Off the field - I think you are going to see players and fans demanding that the Astros players be punished. I think I heard that the Commissioner had given the players "immunity," so I don't know what the ramifications of that will be. I watched part of Yankee Manager Aaron Boone's press conference yesterday, and you could tell that he thought the Astros "apology press conference" was a joke.

2) On the field - I think Astros players are going to have a lot of stressful plate appearances. Not saying I condone it, but I have a feeling that pitchers on opposing teams will be "encouraged" to send a message to the Houston players regarding just how upset the rest of baseball is with them.

And, one other thing. I heard a radio guy say yesterday that the Houston players already had a reputation for being incredibly arrogant, and that they were probably the most disliked team in baseball BEFORE the cheating scandal became an open secret.

Stay tuned.

This is honestly one of the most impactful cheating that has happened in the MLB is a long time, if not ever. It’s bigger than a ref throwing a game or players using steroids.

Anybody who turns a blind eye to this is a disgrace.

Impactful? You obviously haven't seen the stats.

For how long? You think in 2021, players and the media will still be talking about this and writing articles about the players needing to be punished?

Depends what else was going on. Given the rampant amount of cheating they were doing, wouldn't be surprised if other organizational improprieties were occurring.
