Lillard is the most underrated player in the nba. If he was 3-4 inches taller he’d probably be considered a top 2 or 3 player.

A full standard deviation taller? Pretty much every all-star would become the best player in the NBA if they got 4 inches taller while keeping all of the game that allowed them to be a top 20 player without those 4 inches.

I don't know man. Pelicans handled him pretty easily in the playoffs last year.

nailed it. When I saw the pic of Dame, that old youtube meme was the very first thing I thought of.

No, what I’m saying is he’s a 2 guard in a point guards body, and he also plays the point.

The absolute top players in the league are typically 6’6” or taller playing the 2/3 (wing).

I been saying for a while now that dame is the guy you want to build your franchise around from that draft class. Not AD. he continues to prove me right doesn’t he. Now even the pels fan will agree. Unless of course David can get AD to stay. Then he will go back to being the best player in the league to them.

Dame has natural leadership qualities. Davis needs a mentor for him to learn to be a leader. And the Pels never gave him that did they.

No dude. I’d be surprised if you could find more than one or two GMs who would take Lillard over AD, and I like Lillard a ton. I love his attitude. I love his swagger. I love watching him ball out. And I have pretty strong negative feelings towards AD, but AD is still a generational talent. Demps was too damn ignorant to see that he wasn’t a leader. You put Lillard and 4 scrubs on a team vs AD and 4 scrubs and AD will win that matchup more often than not if he’s engaged. It’s not like you need some crazy talent like Irving to be the alpha. You just need someone with experience who’s strong and willful enough to tell him what’s what like Rondo.

How quickly we forget this same Portland team with Nurkic but minus Kanter (I think we can agree Nurkic is the superior player here) got swept by an AD led Pels team last year.

By the way, that 10 for 18 from 30+ feet in a 5 game series is an absolutely insane stat. My god Dame. That’s almost 4 a game.

Oh AD is the better player if you are just looking at numbers. But as the guy you want leading your franchise the intangibles give dame the edge.. It is similar to how cousins stats wise is anout as good as it gets. But the whole package that you get when you get cousins isn’t just stats. You get the intangibles and lack of leadership and all the other stuff that hinders winning.

You can’t compare even prime Boogie talent level to AD’s talent level. They’re not even in the same ballpark. I understand where you’re coming from, but I disagree. I’ve watched AD get better every year and add elements to his game. He hasn’t even been “activated” yet imo. You’re basically saying if we threw all the players in a pool and did a snake draft, Lillard should go before AD. I whole heartedly disagree and my opinion of them as people could not be further apart. If you’re building from scratch, AD is the building piece. There’s so few players he wouldn’t be able to mesh well with outside of the “offense only PF/C guys”. He opens up so many possibilities for you. Dame kind of pigeon holes you into putting guys around him that are better or effective without the ball in their hands. Just shows how much of a frick Up Demps/ownership was at the time.

Your negatives on AD are valid. Lillard would check off the “leader/killer” tabs instantly, but I just wouldn’t place those as so irreplaceable that it can’t be addressed later in the build by say a Patrick Beverly type and a volume scorer like Lou Williams/Terry Rozier late if you need a closer.

I’ll put it this way man. You’d have to basically admit that CP3 is almost just as important as Harden, and I’m giving you that out by saying almost if you did it this past offseason. He showed last year he is very much the soul of that team and also that killer. Him getting hurt lost them that series imo. Just because Chris was the better leader/killer in the 17-18 playoffs doesn’t mean you would even CONSIDER building with CP3 over Harden. And we both know if you’re taking off the homer glasses CP3 had a better playoff run last year than Harden statistically as well.

Literally a four game sample size where the whole Pels defense was designed around throwing exotic traps that left non shooters open.

Congrats to you and cascadia. That was amazing stuff last night.

Hope we're lucky enough to meet y'all in round 2, but I'm doubtful at this point, obviously

Y'all owe us a playoff L, and both fanbases know it.

He makes the playoffs every year. last year meh his teammates really let him down. Dame got trapped and opened up wide open shots for his mates who proceeded to miss a lot more than they made.

Chris isn’t the leader. It is hardwns team. Chris went there to play with James Bc he knew it was his best chance at a title. Chris is the perfect Robin. When Chris went out they just didn’t have the depth needed to beat GOAT. They only had 6 guys who they could play. That’s why the shots didn’t fall they were all dead tired they didn’t have the legs.

Thank you sir I was blowing up cascadia’s phone last night while he was asleep (he’s stationed on the east coast for now) about the game! My SO was snap chatting then turned her phone to me because I was losing my GD mind.

Dame getting that LeBron treatment.

When they win, he’s great. When they lose, it’s his teammates’ faults.
