And i told her what do all of these cities have in common? Liberal run places that have done nothing to try and improve these communities, mainly because they have their vote regardless.

I'm really beginning to believe that keeping their voters down is how they keep their votes. Over-promise and then blame the other side for not getting what you promised. These people are experts at blaming others for everyone's problems, including their own. They've probably started believing themselves.

If too many people's place in the world improved too much, nobody would need them.

There is a very small % of people who haven’t made up their mind who they are voting for. Of those who haven’t, I am seeing a lot of anti right wing sentiment for the lack of acknowledgement of systemic racism.

What a lot of people from both sides don't understand is a large portion of people that voted for Trump in 2016 did not do it because they are right wing thinkers. They voted for him because they wanted someone who isn't a life-long politician.

People from both sides need to start thinking this for all elected offices. Get the people that take their constituents for granted out of Washington. Hell, get them out of Baton Rouge.

Thje Daily Reveille had a column about young people not being pleased with the Democratic Party going with candidates that aren't considered progressive enough.

This article was the first time I saw people that vote Democratic use the term "The party establishment". I've been hearing Republicans say it since before 2016, and all of them voted for Trump that year. Large segments of both parties are tired of the same people running the country. Lots of people from both parties want to Clear the Swamp, whether they want to call it that or not. Imagine how great the country could be if the middle went along.

Many Republican establishment types hate Trump as much as the Left does. I think the majority of politicians who have been in office for more than two terms hate him, regardless of party. All of those folks need to be pulled away from the trough.
They have been eating off of us for too long.

I see the exact opposite. I have never seen so many lifelong democrats exit the party as I have in the last 6 months. It has gradually turned into a stampede over the last month. On this platform alone, I have seen about 100+ independents say they will never vote democrat again. There are current threads discussing this very subject.

LOL. “I see on FB and twitter.” You should look and listen beyond your bubble. There isn’t one person on this entire website who has heard of a former Trump voter saying that they are voting for Biden in 2020. But masses of former democrat voters are walking away and almost all Independents are favoring Trump.

You're just figuring this out? If a significant number grew modestly successful, which of them are going to vote for the politicians that are going to raise their taxes and increase regulations on them?

You're correct. I forgot about that. How'd they get to the middle and upper middle class with all of the systemic racism?

To stay with the topic here:

The sports bubble is on the verge of popping. I am 34 years old. In my time, everything has skyrocketed. Ticket prices, concession prices, parking prices, TV contracts, player salaries, jersey prices, show prices, team values, stadium costs, etc. Much of these prices have increased much faster than what you would relate to simple inflation. It’s all about money, always has been.

There is a crowd out there who thinks sports is dying. We’ve seen threads on it specific for football. There’s way too much money to be made on sports for its existence to cease at a professional level. Hell, we are seeing the legalization of sports gambling across the country. Fantasy sports have boomed in my lifetime. I remember drafting with paper and pencil and tracking stats in the next day’s newspaper.

The alienation of fans will, however, cause sports to return to a more primitive phase. Fewer fans watching means TV contracts might get smaller. Fewer people at the gate will mean less profiting on-site, and an eventual leveling of ticket prices. The immediate need for every bell and whistle at an arena won’t be there. Usually in this situation, owners would threaten to move. This time, they can’t go anywhere. The apathy that sets in is nationwide. Moving a MLB team to Portland isn’t going to solve anything (unless it’s the Rays or Marlins). The die hard libs rioting in that city aren’t going to afford those season tickets.

If this all snowballs, it will eventually result in salary reductions. I love the free market. These athletes should bank what they can. I also think it sucks that our society has put entertainers on a pedestal that allows them to make mega millions. Good for the athlete...but a bad look for where our nation’s (and world’s) ethics are.

I would relish the day where these stars made a moderate 6 figures and had to live and interact with the rest of the world.

Still supporting BLM?

Just in the last 5 days:
2 police officers shot in St Louis this weekend
1 Trump supporter shot and killed in Seattle
Trump parade shot at in LA
Those leaving the RNC convention Thursday were spit on, had water bottles thrown at them, and threatened. (including LGBTQ members)

And from my understanding the body count since George Floyd’s death is 33. 33 innocent lives taken due to BLM violence. Hundreds of millions in property damage. Hundreds of businesses shut down and boarded up.

Riddle me this: BLM has raised millions in support, what good for the community have they done? What have they given back to the struggling AA families in this country in the last 6 months? Where are they to help the homeless black families in SWLA? Link me one thing.

You still a big fan?

This is just a lie. In a month Biden’s margin in the polls has shrunken from 14 points to 4 points. Some polls say 2. Vegas is now flipping on Biden. Stop lying Boom.
