well IMO, there is a hierarchy to how important issues are that we let divide us, and we are shifting to the lower rungs of that hierarchy

In prosperous times where everything is good, maybe you argue about the legality of abortion or the other standard hot button issues, and we can preoccupy our time with discussing the salary cap rules or how good a certain dynasty is.

But the need for law and order to maintain a society and the idea that our society is worth maintaining is the fundamental bottom tier of that hierarchy where I think most people tend to agree with one another. It is not contentious to say we need a consistent, codified system of laws that are met with enforcement when broken. Because this idea is seemingly under some degree of attack, people will find themselves allying with those they previously disagreed vehemently with on the less fundamental issues.

Once we move past this, we will divide ourselves once more on less important matters, but right now I think many are looking at something of an existential threat in a growing ideaology.

So in a lot of long words saying....
the More Soy Board will always be soy

Surprised the vote tally in support of this is 83-7. Maybe there is less soy here than rumored

This board is right wing as frick. Always has been. People here have a bit more “live and let live” mindset than the Political Talk, so apathy is mistaken as being liberal, but ultimately everyone has a breaking point. That apathy has dissolved in the face of a relentless effort to be woke, so here we are.

Well said.

I don’t say a damn thing politically at work (large hospital) save to a couple of coworkers who are legitimate good friends of mine.

I’m amazed at how some of the normally very vocal left leaning people are legitimately now gravitating towards more central ideas, bitching about the media, bitching about riots, etc (they’re still very vocal ).

Not shocked Seguin would kneel.

First thing he said after his trade to Dallas: "there's nothing in Texas but steers and queers and I'm not a cow."

Then gave his first interview with Dallas Voice, an LGBTQ newspaper.

Full of soy. Other men's, apparently.

This is the whole point. Don't bring politics into work. Leave it at the front door. Practice your politics on your own time.

Oh yea. Big time from what I have seen. The right inability to acknowledge The existence of systemic racism And Inequality has moved a lot of people in the middle towards the left. That is what I have seen from my personal interactions and social media etc.

Oh idk about that. I am Not so sure about that. There is a very small % of people who haven’t made up their mind who they are voting for. Of those who haven’t, I am seeing a lot of anti right wing sentiment for the lack of acknowledgement of systemic racism.

It’s not my fault if you can’t figure out 2+2.

Well, according to this article, 2+2 math is an example of white supremacy.

2 + 2 = 4 reeks of white supremacy

The left complains about systemic racism and then nominates the guy who wrote the 1994 crime bill which is The cause of a lot of the systemic racism they complain about. They then nominate a VP that used that law to put a lot of black men in jail

I find that very ironic

Dallas specifically had a BLM support murder 3 police officers on live television that sent the city up

Many in Dallas haven't forgot that.
David Brown handled that situation better than most police chiefs probably would have. I was surprised he took the Chicago Police Superintendent job in April. If anyone can make a difference there, it might be him.
