I think they officially died when they got screwed by the ref in the Ohio St game...they were dead after that, we just did not realize it...

First game my family ever watched in HD. We retired the old Zenith box and got a new “flatscreen” that weighed 300 pounds for the occasion.

Losing 31-7 at Va Tech in 2003 was really when it started going downhill.

The year prior in 2004 they lost 3 of their of their last 6 games and finished 5-3 in the ACC. In 2005 they yet again ended with 3 losses and didn't win their division. That bowl game was a major exclamation point but it's not like they hadn't been fading big time already
