I think they officially died when they got screwed by the ref in the Ohio St game...

It's always funny when a comment like this is made, shows a complete lack of knowlege of football.1) OSU had a completed pass for a first down denied by a bad call with 2 min left that would have let them run out clock in regulation, and 2) that call that was so "unfair" was at the very least easily Def Holding which is still a first down. All these years later and the ignornant keep repeating the "Miami was screwed over" crap.

lol...the call was late and obviously crap...if it would have been any other team than Miami it is not called.

I hate Miami, but they were screwed.

But I guess you are the "football expert"

As a neutral i wanted to see a less controversial ending for sure

Miami should’ve put them away though

I was at the last game at the Orange Bowl when Miami was absolutely demolished by Virginia.

They died that day.

Maybe not but I understand the rules and watched that entire game. I see you ignored the bs call against OSU that stopped them from running out the clock.

I felt a generation should pass before they could be relevant again after all their arrogance, to put it mildly. Worst sportsmanship I’d seen. Maybe I’ll get my wish.

Not a Bama fan, but loved the George Teague Sugar Bowl.

So if Bama wins 10-11 games a season the next 2 seasons but doesn’t win a NC can we say they that last years SEC Championship was the “official” death of Bama?

Abrupt stop? 2 years after losing to Bama in the Sugar Bowl, Miami was ranked #3 going into the Orange Bowl against #1 Nebraska with a chance of winning another NC but lost a close game. That Nebraska team preceded what many considered to be the greatest college football team ever.

People in Columbus were telling me at halftime “may be better to just lose today”

One of the best plays ever that didn’t count. Bama was offsides.

They would’ve declined the penalty if Teague hadn’t taken the ball and had a huge gain. So it did count in that way.
