At the plate for sure. Unfortunately his defense was WOOF. And at catcher, defense is worth a lot more of course.

Yadier Molina is a 100% lock for the HoF.

Will Altuve have the WAR to get in? Isn't the minimum WAR like 70? Right now Altuve has a career WAR of 44.8.

Altuve still has what at least 5 more seasons at 32? May stick around and DH till 38?

Too much left to play.

Plus infinity on Yadi … Yadi is one of the top three, at worst top five, defensive catchers ever born of a woman. Plus he has 2100 career hits and more than 400 career doubles, so we’re not talking an automatic out, and he had some signature offensive moments in the postseason. He absolutely is a Hall of Famer and will be a first-ballot selection, on merit.

If he gets 3000 hits, he’s a lock

Needs like 7 seasons of about 150 hits to get there

Belle had too short of a career. By 33 he was done. If he could have played until he was 37 or 38, he might have gotten in.

Didn't Mauer and Martinez spend half their career at other positions?

Something else that hasn't been touched on is all the playoff success only strengthens Molina's candidacy. He hit the game winning home run in Game 7 of the 2006 NLCS. And then hit .412 in the World Series. And could have easily won MVP of the 2011 World Series. None of those other catchers mentioned before except Posey matches what he achieved in October.

Indeed. He would have gotten in if he wasn't such a knucklehead. But there's no chance he gets in now.

Yeah it just makes them look bad as baseball fans to not understand IMO.

I have something special planned on here when he's inducted.

100% be in the Hall of Fame means if they retired right now they'd be in...

Pujols
Cabrera
Trout
Verlander
Scherzer
Kershaw
Molina
Greinke

That's it.

Obviously guys like Harper and Arenado will very likely be on the list in 2-3 years. Votto, admittedly, would probably be on the list if he didn't play his entire career in Cincnnati.
