Why is Kirk Cousins commanding so much money, let alone fully guaranteed contracts? He's okay, but certainly nothing special.

Because he only signed a 3 yr deal. The guaranteed portion is all that really matters in the NFL anyway.

A 5 yr deal at $150MM with $84 guaranteed isn't much different.

o Cousins is now guaranteed to have made 128 million dollars between 2016-2020

Holy shite

his contract would look damn good right now had the Skins just gambled and signed him to long term deal two years ago.

i mean there are solid options out there.

I don't know how anyone could trust Bradford to play a whole season at this point.

Also, Bridgewater? Gigantic red flag that the Vikes weren't interested.

I don't really think Cousins is a check down guy

he does it a lot

also pads his stats after he played the Skins out of the game.

Best of luck to him, happy he got paid.

Doesn't make much sense - they had Bradford, Bridgewater, and Keenum

Skins offered him $22-$24 million multiple times back then.

He turned it down.

So maybe if Bell doesn't want to get tagged he should back off his long term per year $14.5MM STARTING POINT demands?

In New York Cousins would've had to pay state tax in both NY (extremely high) AND Michigan where his legal residence is.

i don't think that's how that works, you don't get double taxed on state income. Unless he plays Detroit, none of his game checks would be taxed in Michigan. His sponsorship money would be taxed.

They play Detroit, but your post is correct.

He'll have 8 games taxed in Minnesota.

Hes tier 2 getting elite money and hes almost 30. So maybe 5 decent years left in him.

There is a pretty good list of QBs better than he is.

The Redskins were amazingly foolish in their treatment of him, and his management have done a tremendous job capitalizing.

you keep saying this but it's purely subjective and has no meaning to this discussion

well he only signed a 3 year deal so that's irrelevant

hitting free agency?

true

hitting free agency?

No but that doesn't mean hes worth elite money.

But for this to be successful the Vikings have to make the superbowl. If they finish 8-8 or even 9-7 o man.

Probably for SCH. I’m certain Sevendust was always an Eagles fan.

Given the Vikings' curse...he's out for the season by Columbus Day.
