I actually really like the UFL’s overtime. Alternating 2 pt conversion attempts, 5 for each team

Neuer has been a great Goalkeeper for Germany over the years.
He’s just past his prime now, and it showed. He used to be more agile and now looked like a sitting duck, because he is 40 years old.

I don't have a suggestion for soccer, other than just keep playing longer.
Maybe reduce the number of players on the field after the first overtime.
There are a couple of problems with this:
1. As said, you can't just have guys run for 200 minutes
2. Can't have games overlap for TV money
3. Having less players on field means you have the guys on the field running more.
They could probably add something like 3 additional substitutions available for the additional time. The problem with the extra time/PKs is you want to keep your best PK guys in the game even if they are exhausted.

Both are better than MLB starting a fricking runner on 2nd base. I don’t even know what NFL is these days. Can’t remember is if an All-pro BQ got screwed last season and so the changed the rules again.

Penalty kick shootouts are fricking awesome. Nothing about CFB overtime comes close.

Why don't they allow opposing players make a wall like they do when it's an in-game free kick?

Because it's a penalty not a free kick
If keepers would stop guessing and waiting for the striker to take the shot they would save a lot more. The vast majority of penalties are very stoppable but the keepers guess wrong and never have a chance.

just read that he got his start as the German national team goalkeeper in 2010 because the guy who preceded him committed suicide by standing in front of a train
It's Germany, so I bet the train was on time.

Why don’t they just do what hockey does in the playoffs and just keep playing real soccer?
Or do what the NFL does in the playoffs?
Penalty cups at a stage like the World Cup is ridiculous

Perhaps they should change it from a penalty kick to free kick, even allowing chance of offensive rebounds, or whatever it's called in soccer.

I would imagine a big part of it is the limited substitutions. Each team only gets 5 in regulation, 6 in OT. Given OT is an additional 30 minutes of "real soccer", there will be a lot of guys at the brink of exhaustion after playing over 2 hours straight (once stoppage time is added). In a sport where 1-0 scores are not uncommon, who the hell knows how long a game would last without PKs. It could get to 3 hours without some players ever coming off the field.
That's different than hockey and football where teams can substitute liberally. Plus, in football, guys only play on one side of the ball.
As to the OP, the college football OT is BEYOND stupid. It's like the NCAA does something different simply for the sake of doing something different. Basketball has continuous 5 min OT periods just like the NBA. Baseball has extra innings. So why can't college football just put 10-15 minutes on the clock and continue play? Adopt the NFL rule about a FG not ending the game if the opponent hasn't had the ball once. Or, if that is too much, just do straight sudden death.

I'm actually in favor of this.
I'd say put 10 minutes on the clock and play the full 10 minutes and whomever is leading at that point, wins.
