I can subscribe to this as well. How many pitches did Madison Bumgarner throw in that WS over a short period of time? When a championship is on the line you go for it.

Madbum doing it in the MAJORS where he is getting paid is very different from the CWS.

Stuff like this is why if you get ANY decent money you take it. Especially as a pitcher.

If these kids were guaranteed $35M over the next 5 years I would have no problem with their coaches letting them throw until their arms fell off.

It didn’t really make much sense for him to be out there with a 5-0 lead in the 9th.
That’s what’s really weird

A college senior who was drafted in the 38th round is different than a freshman with a ton of potential

It's possible.

If I knew I didn't have any pro future, I'd be throwing until my arm fell off if my team needed me to.

He's most assuredly guaranteed a cush sales position at the best car dealership in Corvallis no matter what so he's got that going for him.

That's the thing

Nobody, even there, will know who he is in 4 years.

Maybe you're right but I don't think so. Did Brett Laxton have a MLB career? I remember him and I bet a lot of people in Baton Rouge do too.

Life is about moments. Guy was dealing and pitching his team to a national championship via a complete game shutout. Once in a lifetime stuff. You go for that shite. It’s not like we know he took even one pitch off any possible major league career either.

Lol, you're asking an ethical question when it comes to Pat Casey?

Exactly. I would have fist fought the coach in the fricking dugout if he tried to take me out of that goddamn game.

That kid just made 5-8 MM. He made the right decision.

Oregon State and Pat Casey have already proven they would do anything it takes to win.

Completely unethical. Even if the kid has no pro future you're killing his arm. He's a freshman; he has three more years left.

Proof that the college game can't be taken seriously by serious baseball fans.
