I'm just getting ready for the day when an 19 year old shows up at a CPA office and has the tax code explained to him on his earnings....especially the kids who only get a relatively little.

" OK Juniors, here is what you owe in state and federal taxes" Junior says, " I don't have it, I used it to buy a Challenger and buy all my friends Playstations"

What's wrong with 18 yr old kids having more control than professional athletes with 8 years in the NFL? They learn nothing of commitment, hard work, persevering through hardship, and that money is the only thing that matters.

What an 18 year old does with this money that is rightfully his is his own business. Telling someone they can’t make money because “they’re not ready for it” is unamerican. It their choice

Myles Brennan gets a pick up truck it’s cool, Caleb Williams gets offered cash then this board starts a rage circle jerk.

Everyone has a choice as to what they do in life. To make these players out as some poor victims is absolutely bullshite. I agree that the money in college football has gotten ridiculously out of hand but this argument that the players receive nothing for their contributions is simply a flat out lie. Whether you realize it or not, these programs spend hundreds of thousands of dollars per player on tuition, room & board, coaching, developing/training, healthcare, nutrition, monthly stipends and the list goes on. What many people seem to be advocating for now is that players should have zero commitment to any team but at the same time receive millions of dollars for "putting their bodies on the line for the evil industry." Literally nothing else in the real world works that way unless you're a politician. I want LSU to have the best team but I also believe that teaching these impressionable young adults real world skills and values are far more important than any championship. The vast majority of these guys will never suit up in the NFL and they will need real skills in the workforce and in life in general. This new system that we're seeing evolve is teaching these guys that they owe nobody any commitment, including their own teammates. You can't be truly successful in life with an outlook like that, regardless of how much money you make.

It’s like some of y’all are begging College Football to go down the drain.

You can’t honestly think that this is better for the collegiate level. Because NIL is ruining the game more and more everyday.

It a dated and narrow minded view of players and what they want from life. Kids these days are not stupid.

I would say most of the supporters of this are relatively young. They don’t have memories of the heyday of the sport to understand how much it has degenerated.

Difference of opinion.

It’s a change that should have happened 20 years ago.
Going through some perceived growing pains now doesn’t mean it’s not the right path.

Growing pains..lolol…

Its just the intermediate action to killing off college football and replacing it with semi pro minor leagues, which should happen anyway.

Democratizing players in the college football value chain should have happened years ago.

P.S. Not young here
