Good grief---Charles Y. McClendon has LSU's all-time win record. Please know the basics of LSU fb history before posting again.

And he was fired too. But like Les, the game had passed him by and it was time.

Should have been fired after the "Jerrysota" game against Michigan. One of the worst pieces if coaching I've ever witnessed.

Just because LSU made a dumbass decisions on whom they hired does not mean the firing was incorrect. Miles had lost touch with what modern football was and basically gave his management and the fans the finger his last two years there.

Yet no decent program is interested in hiring him.

So Les Miles who won more than any coach in LSU history did not win enough to keep his job

Let that sink into your mind for a minute

Dudes offense was garbage and he refused to adapt.

But you already know this.

We have a winner! USF was a BCS #1 for a week in 2007. He built that program from the ground up literally and probably would have gotten USF at least 2 BCS or NY6 bowl wins or better yet would been hired over Schiano for the Bucs job in 2012.

Rich Rogriguez - Michigan

He didn't have the room for error like other coaches did, because he wasn't a "Michigan man", but he didn't create the best team environment either. I am not saying he wasn't not fired too early, because their is no way to know, but an argument can be made that if he wasn't fired when he was, he could have caused more damage to the program.

Just look at Les at Oklahoma State compared to Coach O's previous places.

This is 100% the correct answer- when the Jets call and you're at BC you take the call. If you're the AD you drive him to the interview.

This is a tough question. In three years, top coaches show some sign on life. Therefore, if you haven't won , or at least played in, a single Conference Championship or a Big 6 Bowl Game, you need to go by the end of year 4.

Saban - LSU - Won SEC year 2
Tressel - tOSU - Won Natty year 2???
Stoops - OU - Won Natty year 2 ???
Saban - Bama - Played for the SEC and Played in Sugar Bowl year 2
Meyer - UF - Natty year 2
Meyer - tOSU - Undefeated year 1

Now, there are many coaches that flamed out after a hot start (weis - ND - Fiesta year 1, Sugar year 2). But it helps.
